July 10, 2024 by brennon
Warlord Games are offering up another fun kit for those looking to dive into Bolt Action. The British (and by extension the rest of the Allies) can make use of a rather nice new 28mm plastic kit for the Bedford QLT Troop Transport.

The new set from Warlord Games contains a plastic Bedford QLT Troop Transport as well as a sprue of British Infantry which can be seated in the rear. You can have the canvas-covered cargo bay or you can leave it off if you prefer. This gives you some extra mobility in Bolt Action and could be fitting for use in Europe or in North Africa.

The Bedford was a dependable vehicle that could pretty much make its way through any environment. It was great for troops who wanted a bit of protection against the elements when being transported from one place to another. It could also have a Bren gun mounted on the top so you can keep the enemy at bay when you arrive at your destination.

The set features loads of different components for making the Bedford fit into a variety of settings. According to Warlord, every British force should have a Bedford included in their army at some point.
Bolt Action Third Edition Pre-Orders
Pre-orders are also still available for the new Third Edition of Bolt Action. You can check out the new Starter Set, Battle Of The Bulge, HERE but if you're already really into World War II wargaming, you might just want to get the Rulebook.
Bolt Action Third Edition Rulebook // Warlord Games
The new Rulebook comes with rules for playing your games of Bolt Action including army lists for Great Britain, Germany, the United States of America, Imperial Japan, and the Soviet Union. It has also been updated and tweaked from the last edition with a new platoon selector system which can help you create thematic armies for different missions. There is also a new scenario generation system which allows you to make dynamic and interesting games.
This pre-order period also includes an exclusive figure, Francis S Currey.
Francis S Currey Miniature // Bolt Action
Currey was a Medal Of Honor recipient and a legendary US soldier. He gained plaudits after his actions during the Battle Of The Bulge. He disabled numerous German tanks, helped the wounded out of the line of fire and single-handedly stopped a powerful German advance in its tracks. He comes in Warlord Resin and features weapon options like a rifle (with anti-tank grenade) and a bazooka.
Make sure to check out the pre-orders for Bolt Action and let us know if you're going to be picking up the Bedford!

Nice. I have half tracks for my lads but these should be cheaper points-wise and I reckon a bit more commonplace of Brits in NW Europe in 1945-5.
10/10 would make the seated infantry into a latrine scene. ?
The seated figures look great , so much better than the German version in which the torsos are molded together . I can see using these guys in my halftracks , and with a little kit bashing as tank riders on my Shermans . I already have the Rubicon Bedford but another truck won’t go amiss . I wonder if any of these were sent to the Russians ? My Eastern front troops are low on troop transports .
Oh this looks cracking!
It does, stop getting distracted from building Rome!
That looks a cracking kit, nice alternative to the Rubicon kit and probably doesn’t have as many pieces
Actually as someone who has bought vehicle kits from both companies, they might actually have more.
It screams out Dad’s Army to me… love to see a variant using a butchers van.
There are plenty of die cast Jones Butcher vans knocking around. Mine is a candidate for a spring clean 2025
