Warlord Games have announced that they are working with Diecast Digital to create a version of Blood Red Skies for PC. This digital version of the World War II aerial-combat tabletop game is coming to Kickstarter in the near future.

Ash Colclough of Diecast Digital had this to say...
“We are tremendously excited to bring the exceptional Blood Red Skies gaming experience to digital platforms in collaboration with Warlord Games and the supremely talented Andy Chambers. The team has ambitious plans for the title and we can’t wait to get it into the hands of players”
...and John Stallard matched their excitement for the project.
“In Diecast Digital we have found a partner who shares our passion for this game and the ability to produce a gaming experience that will excite and delight existing Blood Red Skies miniature game players as well as introducing the brand to fans of WWII digital gaming”
Blood Red Skies seems like a solid choice for translation from the tabletop to the PC and I could see it being a really fascinating turn-based strategy game. A game that comes to mind immediately is a favourite of mine from my childhood, Achtung Spitfire!.

With the Blood Red Skies tabletop game exploring the Axis and Allies forces from the skies of Europe and the Pacific, they have a good opportunity to delve into some fascinating theatres of war with the digital version of the game.
The simple-to-learn gameplay of Blood Red Skies should be fun to see done in digital form. It might provide folks with a way to play the game when they can't get together and play around a tabletop!

hmm….. I don’t know….
Ooh.
This looks right up my alley. I have tons of miniatures for this game but then Covid hit and everyone is afraid to game in person. I’m hoping this digital version allows me to learn and play the game for a change. After that I can convince my gaming group to give it a try and hopefully invest in the real game as well.
