Victrix Games Release New 12mm World War II Half-Tracks
September 17, 2021 by brennon
Victrix Games has added a new plastic kit into the mix for those of you wanting to build on your 12mm World War II force on the tabletop. M3 Half-Tracks for the Allies are heading out onto the battlefields of Normandy and beyond.
M3 Half-Track US & British Variants // Victrix
The set comes with six different 12mm plastic miniatures allowing you to make both US and British variants of the M3 to use in your games. Additionally, you also get the decals you need to make them suit your force of choice.

They are looking rather swish I think and I do like the option of adding in half-tracks to ferry your troops into the action. The 12mm World War II Range from Victrix Games is now fairly packed with infantry for the US, British and Germans plus plenty of supporting vehicles.
Despite the odd choice of scale compared to other game ranges out there, these should work for a myriad of games anyway. The likes of Battlegroup should work at various scales so it's not like you're going to lose out by adopting this range compared to Flames Of War or Bolt Action.
With a mass of half-tracks for you to check out, the US and British are getting some good support options.
Watch out for their Soviets in the near future too!

As far as I know the Commonwealth troops never used the M3 with the “pulpit” mount and .50 Cal MG as pictured. Instead they used the M5 version (or basically cheaper version) with either the squads Bren or (less common) a .30 Cal MG (possibly only with the armoured Regts?). And they almost certainly NEVER fielded a half track as pictured in the US Armoured Cav format (1 X .50 Cal and 2 X .30 Cals), remember if it could be done by the Commonwealth troops it was done, just on the smallest fiscal budget possible 😀
Just the thing for a French bank job ?
