Victrix Working On 28mm Scale World War II Plastic Kits
August 15, 2024 by brennon
Victrix Miniatures has revealed that they have secretly been working away in the background on 28mm scale World War II plastic kits! The first preview arrived this week and it's for a set of Late-War Germans.
World War II Late War German Infantry // Victrix
This is the first of the sets that they have been working on and, as with the rest of the work by Victrix, this is looking rather splendid indeed. There already looks to be a lot of good posing options, fighting stances and animated faces which is going to be fun for building squads packed with character.
Previous to this, they had only done a small selection of SioCast 28mm World War II miniatures for the British Infantry as a bit of a test. It seems like they have come on leaps and bounds since then.
More renders are on the way so we've got more sneak peeks to keep an eye out for but Victrix also asked for some help from the community in their announcement. You can use the email [email protected] to get in contact with them concerning constructive feedback on weapons and uniforms that you'd expect to see on the sprues. They are keen to hear lots from World War II experts and knowledgeable individuals. Someone shout for John!
I am intrigued to see what kit is up next. I would expect we're going to see the Americans joining the range sooner rather than later.
What do you make of the initial renders?

A crowded market but choice is good. If the Brits scale well to my warlord ones I’ll pick some up to have a look at.
Me thinks i will be taking a look at these…
They look really nice. I would like them to keep expanding their 12mm line, though. I would love to see more early war releases.
Always nice to have an alternative to Warlord’s somewhat stale Bolt Action plastics.
I honestly don’t know why anyone would buy Warlord’s very below average plastics. Perry make obscenely nice kits, Victrix will be up there; and metals are also a good choice – but not from Warlord…
Depends, if they can put out weapons to scale (unlike the Warlord ones with the StG 44 where the magazine is trailing somewhere around the poor sods ankles) I might be interested. PARTICULARY if they scale to the Perry minis (less “chunky” and “heroic” proportions and a little more realistic).
But my pet peeve is rearing it’s ugly head again, WHY can’t any manufacturer start with doing decent Heer units (rather than the “elite” units) 🙁
Because everyone wants to wear a posh Hugo Boss suit, apparently…
I’m with you – I’d much rather have the core of the armies. Early-mid war eastfront is my area of interest for gaming; followed by the France 1940 campaign; I’d place the Canadian operations after those. Desert is cool too.
But yeah, stuff for the Barbarossa through Stalingrad campaign is first for me.
Wargames Atlantic do a bog standard German army box I think ?
I am glad to see this as Victrix make some of the best quality miniatures (ie detail and accuracy) around. I’ll certainly be lining up to purchase this set (or two)
This is terrible news for my wallet/pile of shame
