Warlord Games has been showing off some new kit for the US and Korean People's Army which includes a bit of armoured support and some heavy firepower to drop on your enemies in Bolt Action: Korea.

M39 Armoured Utility Vehicle - Warlord Games

The first of the releases is for the US and the M39 Armoured Utility Vehicle (above) which was used later on in the Korean War. It was primarily used as both a personnel carrier and an option for lugging kit to various areas of the front line, especially during the defensive period that beset the US and South Koreans during that period.

In battle, it can be used to tow artillery into place or you can cover the advance of your troops with the pintle-mounted HMG which has a 360 degree of fire making sure that nothing can creep up on you.

Korean Heavy Guns

On the Korean People's Army front we have three options starting with the Soviet-loaned North Korean Katyusha.

Whilst offering a lot of long-range firepower and the ability to drop dozens of rockets on a defensive position they were highly inaccurate and were almost used as a scare tactic rather than a means of pinpointing and destroying dug-in positions. They also took forever to reload but because of their truck-mounting, they could be moved around the battlefield quite quickly to answer different threats.

We also have some unmounted options for those playing as the Koreans starting with the North Korean KPA M42 Anti-Tank Gun which was good to begin with but eventually became outdated against upgraded and up-armoured UN vehicles.

You do also get the chance to bring in a traditional mortar team into the mix too though with the North Korean KPA Heavy Mortar Team.

These mortars fired big 120mm mortar shells and could be broken down into three pieces so they could be moved around the battlefield effectively too. There's nothing like a good old fashioned mortar to scare the enemy from their position and potentially blast apart a few buildings and vehicles in the meantime.

What do you make of the new options for the Bolt Action: Korea range?
