Turner Miniatures Dives Into New WW2 6-15mm Kickstarter Soon
August 27, 2024 by brennon
Henry Turner of Turner Miniatures is going to be coming to Kickstarter again soon with a brand new campaign called Battleground 1940: Blitzkrieg. This will be a 6-15 mm-based campaign looking to introduce both German and British armies as STL files for use in your tabletop wargames set during World War II.
German Officers & HQ // Turner Miniatures
The project will cover a whole bunch of miniatures for you to build full armies in any scale from 6mm through to 15mm. You will get HQ Teams, Riflemen, SMG Infantry, LMGs, AT Rifles, Mortars, Snipers, Artillery Crews and more. There are even vehicle add-ons so you play around with crew and passengers for what you have in your collection.

The STL Files that you'll be able to get as part of the campaign will be 6mm by default but they are versatile and can be tweaked by simply scaling the miniatures. Whilst the focus here is on the Germans and the British, the French will be included as an early stretch goal if the campaign does well. So, you'll be able to play out the full-on blitzkrieg of the Axis forces as they flowed over Europe like a swarm.
German MG34 Gunners // Turner Miniatures
Turner Miniatures has also talked about covering some of the minor nations from the conflict as well. Belgium are there as a deep stretch goal and more could be added should the Kickstarter do FAR better than originally expected. Turner Miniatures are focusing on the big forces of the period who would find themselves fighting across multiple campaigns but there is the chance that we could see more of the other nations in the future.
British Officers & HQ // Turner Miniatures
Turner Miniatures has done a great breakdown of the different miniatures that will be available when the Kickstarter launches HERE. They talk about the options for each of the sets and what uniforms and weapons they're bringing to the battlefield.
British Riflemen // Turner Miniatures
Turner Miniatures do some great stuff across a whole range of different periods and this is their first venture into the world of World War II. We've seen Cold War goodness, Napoleonics and the Medieval and now their style of sculpting is coming to early World War II.
British Artillerymen // Turner Miniatures
As mentioned above, in addition to all of the infantry, there are also some great kits coming out to support vehicles that you might have in your collection.
Tank Commander // Turner Miniatures
I really like the wealth of options that Turner Miniatures has presented folks with already, a month ahead of the campaign launch! 27th September marks the beginning of the Battleground 1940: Blitzkrieg campaign, packed with Axis and Allies miniatures.
If these miniatures look good and you'd like to test them out, you can get a free sample pack HERE which you can print off right now. Make sure to check out more from Turner Miniatures and tell us if you'll be going down the World War II route with them.
