Team Yankee Unboxing: Kahalani’s Warriors
April 16, 2019 by johnlyons
The guys take a look at the Kahalani's Warriors box set for Team Yankee from Battlefront Miniatures.
The set includes three Merkava Tanks, which can be built as either Mk1 or better-armoured Mk2, and two Cobra attack helicopters.
As you can tell, John and Justin rate the Merkava quite highly.
How many machine guns on a tank is too many?

Hey guys, dunno if its just me but I’m getting flickers of the first frame during that video
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
I Imagine its two many mgs if you have more than you have spare crew to fire them.
Very nice tank, against soviet stuff for historical battles, it will show why Israel trounced Syria in the Bekaa valley.
Very nice
Yikes 3 Merkavas for 21 pts, that means the Arab nations player would need to buy (5pts for T62 HQ (3 models), 4pts T62 (3 Models) about 15xT62s to match that in points.
I hope that the player collecting this army decide to buy a few T62s/T72s/T55s to help his opponent out because there’s a major difference in “buy in” between the two armies 🙁
That’s always the case though: Stormcast need fewer models than gloomspite, Primaris need fewer than Imperial Guard; British need fewer than Zulu. The choice is yours as a gamer.
It’s a very cool tank. I’d Iranian if I were to Team Yankee though
Looks very nice, would not mind a force of these.
yes that is a sexy tank
Good unboxing about one of my favourite tank, which knocked the first T72 at the battle of Lake Qairoon in 1982 during Operation Peace for Galilee. For more about Kahalani, read his excellent autobiography, The Heights of Courage which is about the desperate but ultimately victorious battle against the Syrians in the Valley of Tears in October 1973.
The Israeli “Born in Battle” Series is an excellent reference source on the IDF with some great illustrations. About 40 years old now, so Ebay or Abebooks is the best bet.
You can never go wrong with a Cobra or two!
I need some of these for sure! The Merkava is a fascinating tank and I’ve tracked it since the MkI.
@Stephen you mentioned “The Israeli “Born in Battle” Series is an excellent reference source on the IDF with some great illustrations.”. If you have any ISBN numbers for these, I’d be interested as I’m very interested in this series you’ve pointed out.
Hi Dennis
Isbns as follows:-
ISBN 965-256-002-2 Yom Kippur War
ISBN 965-256-011-3 Six Day War
ISBN 965-256-003-0 Israel’s Armour in Action. This covers the period 1948 to 78.
All three were published in 1978/79 by Eshel Drammit Ltd.
Happy hunting on Ebay and Abebooks!
Stephen
I’ve always like the sleek almost sci-fi look of the Merkava.
Looking forward to getting my hands on it.
thats a sleek looking tank.
Anyone’s else just watch these for John’s tank factoids?
Not too shabby 🙂
I do like those army boxes. If I ever get in to Fow or Team Yankee I can see it being easy to buy lots more of them than I really should
