Support Charity & Pick Up A Paul Hicks World War 2 Miniature
April 13, 2023 by brennon
A small news story but one that is worthy of supporting to aid charity in remembrance of a wargamer gone too soon. Tabletopper recently got a miniature sculpted by Paul Hicks representing a friend, Ewout Oord, who unfortunately passed away recently. All proceeds from the sale of this new 28mm miniature go to the KWF, the Dutch Cancer Society.

Some background on Ewout Oord...
"This model is based on Ewout Oord, a (war)gamer in heart and soul. He liked strategic games with historical miniatures and Scotland. That is why he often combined this by playing with Scots whenever possible. He was also an English teacher, and his motto was that he wanted to give his students self-confidence. Learning came second. A motto adopted and immortalized by his employer."
The miniature was sculpted by Paul Hicks and Tinnen Roos cast 200 of these miniatures that are now available for you to pick up. If you dive in and pick up this miniature, you're not only getting a unique miniature that could be used to represent a commander in your army but also help fight cancer and help out others.
I think this looks like a cheeky chap who would be great when introduced alongside all sorts of World War II Allied armies. I think he would look particularly nice when fighting alongside Dad's Army perhaps as they try and stop those sneaky Axis troops from invading the British Isles!
Could you be tempted to snap this charity miniature up?
