The Soviets were always in the mood for a good mass artillery barrage and without these brave folks spotting the targets the damage could have been haphazard. Take into account the fact waving big red flags around would probably make you a great target and you have to commend them for their efforts.
The Soviet miniatures are looking great for Bolt Action, and mixed with the regular infantry box and a few mighty guns you could have a force in the making.
