Special Artizan Service Miniatures Calls In The Boats
July 11, 2018 by stvitusdancern
Special Artizan Service Miniatures (SASM) has a new release out right now that caught my eye and is pretty impressive.
The SOC-R (Special Operations Craft Riverine) Boat, you might recognize this boat if you saw the movie Act of Valor you will remember the scene where the SEALs are racing down the road trying to get away from the Cartel and end up driving into the river.
All the while a couple of SOC-Rs come racing up the river and go weapons hot and decimate the bad guys. Now you can do the same on the tabletop with this model from SASM.
The model is 1/50th scale and comes in a length of eight inches by two and a half inches wide. It comes with the six miniatures and weapons including a personal favourite the mini-gun.
The boat is resin and the miniatures and guns are white metal. It looks really great and will definitely add another dimension to the game table.
If you are a fan of modern wargaming like I am you will definitely want to check this one out for yourself!
What do you think? Are you ready to race into the thick of it?

Great stuff, that is a lot of firepower on a small boat
Very cool idea. River warfare is something I’ve never really looked into before from a gaming perspective, but having seen some of the awesome tables for Battlefront’s ‘Nam and having failed to get into 28mm moderns so far this could be the ticket to get me in. Vehicles with big-ass guns are always cool, but they’re even more so when they add to the narrative of a game.
its a nice piece however the postage to the UK is a killer.
I was wrong ignored that last message as they have changed there shipping prices
That looks like a great boat for river control
Its a very impressive craft. I was stationed with this unit during my time in active duty. Best place I was ever stationed.
I saw this headline and picture and instantly thought of that scene from “Act of Valor”. I’m pretty sure the first time I saw the movie I said “hell yeah” out loud when the boats rolled in. LOL! Great movie with some good war game scenario ideas.
