Sergeant Sawyer Charity Figure Now Available From Warlord Games
September 13, 2024 by brennon
Following the news concerning the legendary Paul Sawyer and his illness, Warlord Games has made a new charity miniature available for you to buy. All proceeds from the sale of this figure will go to The Brain Tumour Charity, an incredibly worthy cause chosen by Paul himself.
Sergeant Sawyer Charity Figure // Warlord Games
Sergeant Sawyer has been sculpted to lead the British Airborne into battle on a daring new mission. Here are some details on the miniature from Warlord Games...
"This model represents our illustrious and beloved co-founder, Paul Sawyer. Paul has sadly been forced to step away from Warlord Games due to a serious illness, but we wanted to commemorate and celebrate his incredible career and passion for our hobby with a special figure. Shown in British Airborne uniform, a nod to the many, many Red Devils he’s painted over the years, Sergeant Sawyer is our tribute to a man without whom Warlord Games would simply not exist, and our lives be far poorer. Proudly bearing Paul’s smiling face, Sergeant Sawyer is an essential figure for every collection."
A great miniature and I'm sure the figure is going to find a spot in a lot of collections. As Gerry pointed out to us, that book/map in his hands could easily be painted as a White Dwarf if you were feeling particularly eager with a paintbrush.
Sergeant Sawyer can also be used in your games of Bolt Action as part of any Veteran British Platoon Commander's Team. He comes armed with a submachine gun and has a bunch of special rules. He can take over when a fellow Officer dies and he can inspire others who have failed Order Checks to immediately re-roll the dice and get back in the fight. He also has an Indomitable Spirit meaning that he ignores negative modifiers to Order Checks. A solid figure to throw into your force.
You can find out more about his rules HERE and learn more about the GoFundMe page that was set up HERE.
Will you be scooping up the new charity figure?

The likeness is spot on. It reminds me a bit of Benny Hill tbh – funnily enough!
Now that’s all I can see!
Excellent all around!
I find this very very touching. Not too many of us achieve immortality in this life, but thanks to this miniature, Paul certainly has. I’m sure the thought that he will continue to fight on, on many different battlefields and for many years to come, will give the big fella a good chuckle. And hopefully the knowledge that people love him so much and hold him in such high esteem that they would produce this very fitting and very apt tribute to him will bring he and his family comfort and reassurance of a life well spent.
A great figure for a good cause.👍
In the worst of circumstances this is at least one can say ‘Nicely done and well said Warlord’
I got mine yesterday at Warlord Games Open Day, it really is beautifully sculpted!
Got him ordered. I always enjoyed WD while “Fat Bloke” was the editor. Plus, as a contributor to the bat rep in issue 300, under his watch, I had a great experience. So sorry to hear of what he is going through, and I wish Paul all the best, and give thanks for all that he has contributed to the Hobby over the years.
A fantastic cause!
