Build The Russian Countryside With Sarissa Precision
November 11, 2019 by brennon
Sarissa Precision has been showing off two new releases for those building up the Russian countryside on their tabletops. We start with the Russian Dacha which is a nice looking country house which might dot a landscape of thick forests and hills.
This would be a good fit for those building World War II, Cold War and even Modern tabletops as the style of architecture and such out there in the wilds hasn't changed that much over the generations. I like how quaint it looks and it would be a nice way to populate an otherwise wild-looking tabletop. I imagine it would certainly be a welcome place for your troops to take cover inside of should the fighting start in earnest.
Creaking Windmills
As well as the Dacha we also have the Russian Windmill kit which would have been a staple of the Soviet countryside, grinding up grain and keeping the local area fed.
These Windmills were fairly light in structure and so they weren't used often to store grain and flour but would have simply been used to get the process started before the raw materials being moved on to barns and such nearby.
Once again, this would be a great option for World War II, Cold War and Modern tabletops and it could even find its way into the wider Eastern European 'theatre' if you wanted to try something different.
What do you think?

Am liking (just wish the MDF makers would do to scale buildings. ie ones with about 4 times the footprint). Some very iconic features and add more that the typical “log cabin” you usually see on wargamers tables if depicting the Eastern Front in Russia 🙂
Smashing looking terrain pieces.
Damn these are great, just wish they were in 6mm scale.
