Rubicon Models has been working away on creating miniatures in 1/56 scale for those diving into the Vietnam War. The US Marines have been coming together nicely but recent previews looked at the Viet Cong and some miniatures for this Historical period.

Viet Cong Command Group - Rubicon Models

The first set of miniatures is for the Command Group. Here you can see a selection of soldiers who are armed with a variety of different weapons. You've got a more traditional assault rifle and the likes of an RPG which can be used to take out armour and bring down helicopters.

If you're looking to bulk out your force with some alternative soldiers then you can also check out these Viet Cong Female Fighters which are also included on some of the new sprues.

The Viet Cong drew in fighters from all corners of the country, hence why we're seeing this great set of female fighters included as part of the kit. As the US forces pushed through jungles, farm fields and villages they could get attacked from anywhere.

If you're interested in how this Viet Cong plastic sprue looks on the sprue, you can see how the kit breaks down here.

It seems like it could be a neat package to pick up if you're seeking to fight out the Vietnam War. There are plenty of bodies to pick from and then a big selection of accessories and weapons with which to arm these soldiers.

Mix these new plastics in with some of the other kits that are on the way by Rubicon and you'd have an excellent fighting force for the Vietnam War. Rubicon has a lot more planned as well with vehicles like tanks, helicopters and more coming soon. They are very much looking to cover every aspect of the Vietnam War.

What do you think of these new previews?
