Continuing our previews of what's coming as part of Empress Miniatures' new Kickstarter (that lands at the end of the month!), we have a peek at more of the Arnhem Heroes that have been sculpted by Paul Hicks.

Major Digby & Father Egan - Empress Miniatures

As the title of this news piece would suggest, it's time to get your brollies ready and embrace the eccentric side of your personality. One of the nice things about the upcoming range is that it explores the named individuals that were fighting at Arnhem. One such character was Major Digby Tatham-Warter.

This fellow rocked around with an umbrella to make identification easier on the battlefield but there are also stories of him taking out the driver of an armoured vehicle with the pointy end of his chosen tool!

He is also pictured here with Father Egan who was a poor fellow taking shelter from incoming mortar fire. Major Digby showed up and lifted him out of the mud, marching him across the road and to safety. Quite the hero.

Weapon Teams

As well as the miniatures for Major Digby and Father Egan, they also showed off more of the weapon teams that are going to be coming out. There are those rocking machine guns...

...and those with mortars at the ready. As we've discussed in previous coverage of these previews, it looks like at this point Paul Hicks is going to have sculpted every Allied soldier fighting at Arnhem!

We can't wait to see what comes together as part of this new Kickstarter. I think this might end up with a lot of folks starting new British armies for World War II and playing a lot more Historical wargames!

Are you going to be backing this campaign?
