Inside the book, you'll find the background to the Soviet Invasion of North America including background for the Soviet Airborne Forces, the VDV, Cubans, US Continentals and the Militia Fores too.
There are also full rules on how to build a Soviet BMB Air Assault Battalion, the T-72B Tank Battalion, T-64BV Tank Battalion, Cuban T-62, T-55, BMP & BTR-60 Formations, and a US Militia Group. There are also air assault rules covering new mission types and more for the US, British, West Germans, Soviets, Warsaw Pact and Cuban forces. Who doesn't like epic helicopter-based action?
Finishing things off, there are also four scenarios where the US Irregular Militia Groups are pitted against the Soviets. So, you can yell "Wolverines" at the top of your lungs and weird everyone else out at the gaming club.

To get you started, there is also a brand new Starter Force for the Soviets.

This set comes with fifty-three infantry, fifteen tanks and two aircraft. You'll also note that the set comes with an exclusive HQ Team and that awesome Wondonald's Sign that would be great as an objective marker in your games. You've also got loads of awesome tanks for you to play with and plenty of transport options for your infantry teams.
As well as the new Starter Force, there are also going to be a host of boxed sets for you to pick up. You could run with the T-64 Tank Company...

...or something like the ASU-85 Assault Gun Company. This is by no means an extensive look at what they have coming out but we'll take a better look at all of this as we see the releases come out for Red Dawn.

Things will end up starting properly when December comes around. So, watch out for the big new book release and a bunch of miniatures for playing out the Invasion Of America!
Could you be tempted to snap up these miniatures?

I’m looking forward to this already got some preorders in ?
Great looking unit’s better get ready to realise the tractors.?
The “apex predator” of the current Orc invasion. Every conscript from the Far East who wishes his father was an oligarch truly fears the humble tractor…
Team Fantasy: ‘Merica just keeps getting re-hashed, worse, and sillier.
Why not the DPRK version from the remake? That would be more silly.
Battlefront/Flames of Fantasy has truly jumped the shark this time.
This is the Soviet Airborne box set. You can ignore the Red Dawn bit if it doesn’t float your boat. This allows for a smaller elite soviet force rather than the usual horde. If the kits were plastic rather than resin/metal I might be more interested, but I will probably grab a box of the new T64BV to add in to my existing soviets.
Indeed, if you remember reading “Red Storm Rising” by Tom Clancy back in the 80s, that had an invasion of Iceland by Russian Paratroops (although they were snuck in using civilian cargo vessels) to take down the monitoring stations for the GIUK gap). There’s no battle on taking the Island, but in the book the island was taken back by UK and US Marines (chance to break out those LVTP-7s you might have collecting dust) later on. I believe the kits are all plastic other than the BTR-ZD with the AA gun welded on top (as a rule of thumb… Read more »
It’s just Soviet Airborne, not that silly seeing as Team Yankee is made up anyway.
I tried watching a few games on youtube but I do not find them enjoyable at all, maybe its a better experience as a player. I find watching a bunch of tanks formed up in a roman square hiding behind a hedge to remove me from watching…? Shame as I like the kits and scale…any other rules can I use that would support more of a solo option as well…?
Northag rules?
Or just play at a lower points on a 6×4 table, and house rule minimum distance between models.
Epic release from battlefront. And for those not liking the Red Dawn link it’s just the Soviet Airborne release with a fancy name and a tie in to market it.
This is a interesting departure from the all plastic starter kits of late, the BDM’s are plastic but the but the BTR-D’s are metal and resin, I’ve heard it rumoured that the airborne figures are metal too (and possibly the last BF will make) as all the thermo plastic production is taken up by FoW.
I’ll be honest I really want to order this for the objective marker!
This should be one for you Ben, instead of Wolverines, it would be a guerrilla group called the Badgers who live in Cave (or Burrows), who all have Animal disguises so that the Soviets wont be able to take reprisals on their families…..
I’ll get my coat!!!
