Perry Miniatures Update Us On WWII US Infantry Plans
December 20, 2018 by brennon
Perry Miniatures has previewed some of the upcoming World War II US Infantry they've been working on in 3Up form over on Facebook this week.
This set of infantry is going to include forty-two miniatures in the box...yep. The kit will also be endeavouring to cover the kind of kit that the US would have been using from their action in Tunisia through to the invasion of Europe on D-Day.
Here is a rundown of what's going to be included in the box...
"There are 15 different body positions, including 3 kneeling and 2 prone, all with separate heads. There will be 37 x Garands, 3 x Springfields, 6 x BARs (double the amount you need but encase you want to up gun your platoon as some did later in the war), 8 x Thompson SMGs, 6 x M1 Carbines, 2 x Springfield sniper rifles, 2 x M1A1 Bazookas, 2 x Grease guns and 2 x pistols. Rifle ammo pouches are attached to some bodies but others are left without and separate pouches for each gun supplied."
Yes...there's plenty included in there for someone looking to make whatever kind of US soldier they want. It's cool that they added in more heavy guns like the BARs so that you can make some very hefty squads too.
When this drops I think we're going to see this become the go-to kit for someone wanting to make a US force for World War II gaming. The variety of different bodies, heads and accessories means that you should get lots of very individual looking soldiers.
I'm still in the mood to play some cool skirmish games using the Bolt Action rules where you're looking at a dice per man rather than per squad.
What do you think of the new previews?

I have always loved the Perry’s work and this shows they are still number one. You have high detail, maximum posing options and just dam fine looking minis. Defo be adding these to my army when out.
Nice figure’s to game with.
I would ask, will this be a left arm, right arm, gun assembly? Or, will one arm have the gun pre attached? I hope for the latter, the 3 part assembly in the current US can be quite the challenge. Upping the number of BARs and 2 30 cals is great, my thanks to the Perry brothers for thinking through how lists are currently being built and reacting to the community desires.
These will be in the same true-scale 28mm like the Desert rats?
As they are designed for Tunisia I sure they will be same size
