Offensive Miniatures Release New WW2 Russian Infantry Range
April 19, 2024 by brennon
Offensive Miniatures has recently released their World War II Russian range in 28mm for your Historical wargames. The range covers all of the basics that you'd need for getting stuck into a bit of World War II action on the tabletop.
Russian Command // Offensive Miniatures
The miniatures have been designed to cover the period from the Mid to Late-War starting with the Russian Command set that you can see above. You'll be able to use these fellows to lead the way in the bloody battles of Stalingrad, Kursk and Operation Bagration as well as the pushback towards Berlin in 1945.
Your Command set will need some troops to lead and that's where the two Infantry Sets come in for your Soviets. They are split into two teams of ten and come armed with appropriate weapons for the period.

The sets come with miniatures in firing and advancing poses armed with the Mosin-Nagant rifle and the PPSh41 SMG. There is also a Degtyarev LMG amongst the set so you can lay down a bit of covering fire. I'm just showing off a portion of what's available here but there are many more miniatures between Infantry Section One and Infantry Section Two that come in some really dynamic poses.

There are also special weapons available for your Soviets so you can start to support your infantry as they push forward. You can get an HMG Team for starters, laying down some additional covering fire and mowing down infantry that dares to rush out from cover.

If you're looking to flush the enemy out from cover then you've also got an 80mm Mortar Team. I really like the character that Offensive manage to get into their range where all the soldiers are "doing" something, be it aiming, reloading or firing. It makes for a great set of skirmishing miniatures for your smaller games.

When you need to take down a heftier piece of kit within the enemy army there is also the Russian 45mm AT Gun & Crew. Use this to punch a hole in some German armour or knock down some defences.

All of these miniatures are available for you to scoop up right now and slot into your World War II wargames. Maybe you could use these for some games of Bolt Action as we move into the new edition? Perhaps they could be good for a bit of Chain Of Command? They will suit all 28mm wargames.
What do you make of these new Russian miniatures?

I have a half assed notion to do 28mm soviets and lordamercy these look superb
Offensive Miniatures do some seriously nice minis. They probably do the best US Airborne minis out there (they even have three different 10 man squad packs with unique sculpts), they also don’t suffer from Warlord’s “chunkyness” and oversized weapons. Although they do a lot of nations, sadly they haven’t done a normal German Heer release yet (mind you when was the last time you saw a Germen player fielding bog standard Heer infantry squads in Bolt Action). Hopefully they will rectify that omission soon. On the Russian releases, only two squad packs so far, but hopefully they will expand on… Read more »
