Check Out New Trailer For Warlord’s Bolt Action Battle Of France Campaign
October 16, 2018 by brennon
If you didn't know already, the pre-order period for the new Bolt Action Battle Of France expansion by Warlord Games is now up and running.
So, what's inside this book?
The Battle of France saw German forces sweep across the Low Countries and towards Paris, crushing Allied resistance in just six weeks. From Fall Gelb and the British withdrawal from Dunkirk to the decisive Fall Rot, this new supplement for Bolt Action allows players to take command of the bitter fighting for France, and to refight the key battles of this campaign. Linked scenarios and new rules, troop types, and Theatre Selectors offer plenty of options for novice and veteran players alike.
It should make for some rather awesome clashes as the French get stuck into some bloodthirsty fighting. I really like that this campaign book links together a series of different scenarios, allowing you to try and turn the tide and rewrite history, or see how it played out in real life.
To get you in the mood Warlord Games also put together this rather epic trailer...
With that getting you fired up you can also get your hands on some new French & Allied forces from Warlord Games over on their webstore.
The above set, French Defence Force 1939 - 1940, comes with an array of awesome infantry, cavalry and also some big guns for blowing away your foes. I love that it comes with some cavalry though, a hark back to the early years of World War I.
Are you going to be checking this out?

Some French troops? Nice.
Good ‘ol 1 horsepower.
French players will roll over and have there tummy rubbed when the germany`s turn up !!!
While I get that that is just a joke I think we all know that it’s based on inaccurate myths about early WWII and French fighting against German Blitzkrieg.
Personally it’s more a question of which wonderful French tank I’m going to bring to the table when all the poor German players have to face them are strong words and a 38(t). The French are far from a pushover in Bolt Action and I’m really looking to get started with them.
Cavalry was still very common at the start of WWII would be interesting to see them play out.
The Dutch even had infantry on bikes … so we were a bit more advanced compared to the French 😉
Look at the Polish fighting the German’s.
I’ve won a couple of tournaments with my 1940 French and ended decently in others. I’m certainly going to get this book, hopefully at the “Fall In” event in Pennsylvania next month. As for the cavalry, need to see the rules first. The 25mm and 47mm AT should be a real plus but I will have to think through whether the 105mm add anything to what are very effective and flexible 75mm guns. You guys have any thoughts?
I’m going with the 105mm Howitzer for my 500pt force as the free artillery piece. I don’t have much Bolt Action experience, but couldn’t see a downside (other than struggling to find a towing vehicle later on). Is there a consideration I missed that gives light guns an advantage?
Bloody Bolt Action …. it refuses to go away !!!! Ever since the Boot Camp weekend I have been visiting the Warlord Website , sniffing around the Bolt Action pages and plotting future purchases. After 9 days of visting them , getting enthused (put purchases in my trolley thrice) I managed to pull my self away with my wallet’s virtue intact. I was 3 days clean . Then this comes along…… Oh well, I guess it won’t hurt to look…..
yep, I’m in the same boat.
And because the French did (try to) support our troops I kind of hope there’s a bit of info on that as well.
