As well as the new Soviet Starter Force now being available which comes with a myriad of tanks, support vehicles and helicopters you can also get the new Sourcebook for the Soviets. This gives you all of the rules that you need to get started with a thematic force in this war-that-almost-was.
On top of that, you can order some of the first boxes of new vehicles for use in your army. Leading the way we have T-55AM Tank Company.

This was a fancy tank to have as part of the Soviet forces during the period with its semi-reactive armour plating on the turret and hull. It also had an improved engine, fire control mechanism and laser rangefinders amongst other gizmos. It could also fire the AT-10 Stabber (9M117 Bastion) through its main gun.
If you prefer something a bit more static then you've also got the TOS-1 Thermobaric Rocket Launcher Battery.

Built onto a T-72 chassis, these "Buratino" as they were known were a really quick and easy way for the Soviets to bring twenty-four rockets to bear on a position. When one of them fires they can sow destruction over a 600x400 metre area. I would not want to end up facing one of these.
You can also get your hands on a new set of Soviet Unit Cards which mean you can plan out your army ahead of releases and they also are pretty darn handy in-game.
Are you tempted to dive in and give this range a look?

Let the Red Storm roll ?
Ooh nice.
I’ll have 2 please
I got the new Soviet WW3 book, but I’ll complete my Red Thunder models first and get a few games in (post lockdown) before seeing what I may want from this new wave. T-80s probably won;t feature.
These T-80s look great and downright scary. IRL they fared poorly when thrown into Chechnya, but a lot of that was poor tactics and training.
WWIII is deeply tempting. These vehicles look great.
