New Bolt Action & Konflikt ’47 Tanks Rumble Out Of Warlord Games
January 18, 2022 by brennon
Warlord Games has dropped a bunch of new tanks (and a walker!) into the mix for those playing Historical games of Bolt Action and something a bit more Weird World War in Konflikt '47. We'll start with the 28mm World War II vehicles.

The first of the miniatures is for the M11/39 Medium Tank. The M11/39 was used in East and North African campaigns but it didn't last long. It was eventually shunted aside, blasted apart by the Matilda but did find some use thanks to the Australians who managed to pilfer some! The Australians even went so far as to paint big white kangaroos on their sides to avoid being shot at by the Allies!
The next of the tanks is the L6 Lanciaflamme Flame Tank.

As you might have guessed, this is a tank with a big ol' flamethrower on the front. Unfortunately for the Italians, it was pretty much a waste of time and as it rolled out of the factory it was already outgunned. It did find use occasionally and could also be used as a reconnaissance vehicle. Also, it could burn stuff. So, pretty good for getting people out of cover.
The Italians are also getting their hands on the famous Autoblinda AB40 Armoured Car.

This was the predecessor to the more numerous AB41 Armoured Car. The difference comes with the more low profile turret that houses two 8mm machine guns. It was used in smaller numbers but saw action across Southern France and into Libya. A neat option for a very niche portion of history.

Moving to the genre of Weird World War, we also have the Chi-Nu With Compression Cannon.

This style of tank hits the battlefield in 1947 and brings with it the power to rip apart some smaller vehicles. The Compression Cannon makes good use of rift-tech in order to offer up a solid weapon that is able to punch a hole in all but the toughest armour. It is also mounted on the back of a tank that can hold its own under intense fire too.
The US forces also get access to their towering and rather fun USMC M3A5 Pondskater Scout Walker.

The Pondskater is fast and agile and able to find a place in pretty much any force. It can be used for recon purposes or as support for advancing infantry. You can mount some hefty heavy machine guns on it and use that recoilless rifle to pop a few shots at tanks too. A great way to do some island hopping if you're battling across the Weird World War Pacific.
Are you going to be picking up these tanks and walkers for some World War II (and Weird World War!) action?

Could be interesting having pick an mix Africa war game with the K,47 tanks added to the action.
Why is that Japanese tank red? I struggle with this in 40k let alone something supposed to be … a bit more believable.
Red goes faster.
Ha! Yes!
That’s rust
I see another Pondskater in my future. I think its one of the coolest looking K47 minis out there.
I do like my tanks and armoured cars especially the early war ones they have so much character.
