The Commandos were formed in 1940 and found themselves fighting across all manner of different theatres of war. Europe, Burma and Africa all played host to the Commandos and of course, you have that daring raid on St Nazaire. They were also formed of British soldiers plus Belgians, Polish, Dutch and many, many more.
To that end, the new sprue offers up a lot of different options for building your Commandos. This gives you a fairly good breakdown of what you can tinker with...

There are a lot of different options on these sprues allowing you to make all manner of interesting Commandos. I like that you can seriously personalise your troops and pack everything onto them if you like. Commandos fought without a lot of support most of the time so it's neat to see that reflected in the type of gear they take with them.
More Allied & Axis Options
As well as the new plastic miniatures, you'll also be able to bulk out your Allied and Axis forces with some new kits as well. For example, the Americans get a new tank in plastic too.

This particular tank was quite the mainstay of the Allied force during World War II and beyond. It saw service in North Africa, Tunisia, North-West Europe, Italy and the Pacific. It even managed to see service beyond 1945 into Indochina and the Vietnam War.
If you're more interested in making sure the British have solid defensive lines set then you can also tinker with the 5.5-inch Medium Howitzer.

Punch a hole in the enemy lines and do it from afar. Seems like the best way to approach dealing with the enemy I reckon. Have a few of these set up along the back of the table and shell your opponent out of cover.
Rounding things off for the Allies, we also have the M6 Fargo 37mm GMC.

The first "tank destroyer" that the Americans were able to call into action. Initially, these somewhat bodged together vehicles were used in Tunisian but they eventually saw a lot of use during the Pacific campaign too. It's a lot cheaper to weld a gun onto the back of a truck than it is to build an entirely new tank.
Last but not least, we do have the promised expansion options for the Germans. Here is the Panzer Lehr Squad.

These soldiers fought everywhere too from North Africa through to Sicily and the Italian campaigns. They were highly experienced and would be a good way to inform the new recruits of how to conduct themselves in battle.
An interesting distinction between this unit and others was that they were almost always mounted in half-tracks. This meant that they were a pretty mobile and deadly mechanised unit for the Germans to bring to bear. They also fought alongside the big and deadly Tiger II tanks!
Are you going to be snapping up these new miniatures? Pre-orders will go live from 5th June!

Great for some gorilla actions throughout the war.
The Squad of Panzer Lehr look fantastic, nice to see the commandos getting a refresh too.
love the M6 Fargo, what a cool vehicle. Just love the looks
Deff want some of those Commandos. I decided I would just stick with the Brits I already had when the new kit came out…but new Commandos that come with plastic Vickers K guns? Yes please.
I have the Old Commandos, and having to find VGO LMGs for them was annoying, its awesome that this new set comes with them. I’m a little jelly.
Why are there Bren gun magazine pouches on the Commando sprue when the LMG is a Vickers? Just googled it, apparently they are compatible.
I’m expecting a lot of overlap with the regular Brits kit, which Warlord have told me it’s on its way today ??
Interestingly Warlord seem to be marketing this as an upgrade sprue, not a box. Which is good because if you buy the newish British and Canadian box you end up with 5 light mortars and 5 PIAT’s which is a bit excessive. I hope to see them do an upgrade sprues for other armies too, such as light mortars and panzershcreks for the Germans. And yes, I know you can buy the British and Canadian sprues on their own too.
