Warlord Games Take Aim With The Marder III Ausf. H Tank Destroyer
December 7, 2017 by thisisazrael
Bolt Action tabletops are about to be rocked by the sheer power of the new Marder III Ausf. H kit from Warlord Games.
Giving up on armour to add raw power, the core of this tank destroyer is the Czech-built Pz 38(t) tank chassis paired together with the Soviet 76.2mm PaK 36(r) L/51 anti-tank gun.
Initially, the captured tank guns were repurposed to take the German 75mm PaK 40 ammunition but this later changed to have the guns themselves swapped outright.
"Deployed on both the Western and Eastern fronts, the Marder III also saw action in North Africa where it was one of the few German options to counter the heavily armoured British Matilda infantry tanks."
"In all, 1,581 Marder III tank destroyers were produced and would continue to be employed to the war’s end in 1945."
The kit is plastic, comes with three dynamic crew members and of course all the stat cards, decals and markers we've come to expect from Warlord.
What tank gives you the most grief on the tabletop?
Ordered mine two days ago with holiday 15% discount voucher, really love how it looks. If it turns out to be as good as it looks I may actually get two more. Mobile tank hunters, always good to have a few spare.
ooh yes a fabulous looking model.

The M version was built from Apr 43 to May 44 for a total of 975 SPGs .… Read more »
