Mad Bob’s Folding Urban Terrain Hits 4Ground’s Webstore
November 23, 2021 by brennon
4Ground has now made the Mad Bob Miniatures Folding Terrain available over on their webstore for you to snap up! Currently, the Brick Buildings array is available for you to pick up, ready and raring for some 28mm wargames on the tabletop.

Each of the buildings has been designed so that are common of 19th and 20th Century urban environments. The entire building folds away (see an example of this below) whilst also coming with a removable roof and upper floor on some of the taller buildings for ease of play.

As mentioned above, each of the kits has been designed to work with 28mm miniatures so these should suit games like Bolt Action very well. Anything set during World War I onwards would probably suit this collection well.

These kits have also been updated and tweaked since the previous iteration of them over on Kickstarter. This makes them easier to assemble and offers more functionality when being used in-game. They also come with doors that open which is always a fun addition!

Now they have arrived on the 4Ground site, you are now able to buy these pre-coloured versions of the terrain as well. A lot of the existing Mad Bob Miniatures collection is now available unpainted with a rare few pre-coloured. With the 4Ground selection, you won't have to worry about doing any painting!

I really like these designs and I think they would be a good, simple fit for many wargaming tables. It also helps to solve one of the issues people have with terrain. It is a pain in the ass to store!

So, with folding terrain on the go it should be easy to play games and then tidy up afterwards.
Are you going to be picking up some of this terrain for yourself?

I love this concept.
I have a bunch of these from the Kickstarter Mad Bob did a couple years back. They are fantastic and save a lot of space in comparison to my other non-folding 4ground buildings. They blend in pretty well with the 4ground stuff too when they are side by side.
The only negative I would have to say about them is the directions at the time were hard to follow. Hopefully in partnering with 4ground that has been improved. Once you get the knack of building them though they are a fun project.
Folding mdf does not seem ideal to me… I’d expect the hinges to be prone to breaking, or not a good fit.
Slot together, or magnets would be a better solution in my opinion.
Great looking buildings love the storage capacity of them.
