Granate!
Appreciate the video! I’m loving the changes from Second Ed – can’t wait to play!
Thanks for this. I’m counting down the days to the launch!
I do own a Flames of War starter that’s still on my painting list. Very fiddly to assemble.
This does look interesting. Last WW2 game I played is Tide of Iron in the pre-covid era.
Great looking bits
A thorough How to Play video.
I love the table setup, especially the trees, It looks great.
That explains the change. Sweet, looking forward to playing at some point soon.
Fun let’s play, Gerry managed to snatch video Tory for. Jaws of defeat. Doesn’t seem that they have fixed that silly art rule.
When Gerry takes his glasses of you know he is about to do some serious business ^^
also he can’t see what he’s looking at
ive been thumbing through my new rulebook and so far im happy with it. I quite like the slimmed down force listings in it (eg + x points for your half track to be an abc and – x points for it to be a xyz halftrack etc), I know they’ll be properly expanded on in later books though which is good.
can’t wait to give this a go
Interested in seeing the changes
Haven’t played more than a couple of battles of 2nd edition. Just didn’t get around to it rather than a quick turnaround of versions. Will probably get the latest book at some point.
Seems to be a good update. I don’t see anything that I have a difficulty with and the main thing is that it is still fairly quick going and looks enjoyable. Anything that you found annoying or equally good about the update so far @avernos?
shooting modifiers have really been streamlined, so you -1 for pinned, not -1 per pin. Which means that unit with 4 pins on them and a squad bearing down on their position *if* you can activate them, by an officer or whatever, they still do decent damage.
It shifts pins from being a pain in the hole all around to affecting morale and C&C far more .
Also, medics don’t gain VPs. So when Cpt Alpha breaks the convention and double taps one he gets nothing except a court-martial after the war
That medic – far too good a target to turn your nose up at. He should have gone down in turn 1.
He will indeed be making it back to uni!
I’m liking the sound of the changes
Will watch later. I really enjoyed Bolt action v2 but found that in the hands of the meta gamers it became quite dull. So hoping for the best
Looks good
Looks fun to play!
Excited to try out the changes for myself
Can’t wait till third ed.!!!
This will be my next video after the getting started
I will definitely want to get a winter themed army. Having painted Bolt Action forces in North Africa, European West and European East all in summer gear, some snowy bases and winter themes are a new for me.
Learning. Learning…
Great demo, getting my rulebook tomorrow (hopefully) cant wait to play!
Looking forward to when I get time to play 3rd edition. Maybe at the release of the French book. 🙂
My 6.75 year old daughter wanted to know about Gerry and all the figures in the room.
“Does he own all those?”
alas no, all of mine are at home…and unpainted
Thank you for the chance to see how it works for V.3 .
Keeping my fingers crossed for a chance to win Battle of Bulge starter set.
It would very much turn my year around in so many ways.
Would love to build a fallschmajer force for battle of bludge, started bolt action at the start of the year and now excited to get involved with edition 3!

Looking forward to the chance to build and own a version 3 army!
For me it would defenetly be the U.S. as this whole thing gives me the Band of Brothers vibes!!! I’m still a bit sad they did not yet did German/Soviet Starter set as for me the Ostfront is the where the main fighting of the war happend…
I do like the bag o dice initiative system. Ive never played a game like that before.
Great game. Unfortunately both need practice at the inside of a barn.
It fascinates me that, with the wacky stuff that can happen with Order tests and Fubars this seems less of a tactical elite strategy simulation like a lot of the other big games in this space and more about these soldiers finding themselves thrust into the chaos of combat and first and foremost trying to survive whilst looking for chances to snatch at a chance of victory.
An interesting fit for one of the more humanized genres of wargaming.
Happy to see the game is still very much recognisable as Bolt Action. The changes that have been made are still very intuitive. It doesn’t look that it will take much effort to get up and running.
This is looking very good set, board looks good.
I’m reminiscing about how “Beasts of War” introduced me to V1 of Bolt Action years and years ago. I remember Warren had a little handheld camera that he put down to get the mini’s perspective.
Nuts!
Liking the rules changes, nice to see it’s still the same game, just tidier
Great video. Need to get my Italians reorganised
Interesting to see what changes and what stays the same.
So looking forward to the new edition!
Nice job explaining all the rules as you went. You guys were able to explain the game rather seamlessly. Well done.
Super stoked to get started on Bolt Action, a WW2 TTG? That’s right up my alley!
The streamlining does seem to keep the game chugging along at a fair pace
Great video, I’m gonna have to watch this on repeat to really start learning the rules before I jump in! 3rd edition looks like a great starting point as a newcomer.
Looking at getting into the Fallschirmjäger, thanks for the content!
“Starts with 4 dice…special rule…goes to 10 dice…” – Seems fair. lol
Great little battle.
Great demo of the game using just the starter set contents.
Love the winter terrain!
Commenting, for a chance to win 😊
I played first ed, but not 2nd, so this is extra useful
Looking forward to reorganising my army with the new Force constructions. Happy as now i can have more of a 7th Army in Villars Bocage theme with more than 1 tank.
Loving the winter board
bam
This is a useful video thanks!
Bolted Action.
After having started to watch; Gerry, just give up and get progressive glasses. 🙂
