nice crisp colours ,I am sure Mrs will be following this example for her Fallshirmjager
Such nice scheme
Very instructive video,
One thing I’ve learnt in my limited time is to pick a painting style, sticking to it and practicing with it.
Shading is new to me and makes such a difference, haven’t started varnish technique yet.
Good luck for the comp everyone!
Looking forward to the historical comments from John. Will watch when able.
I’m a sucker for the winter theme. The Wolf Grey on white looks great. Thanks for the easy to follow guide. Very tempted to pick some of these up.
Bookmarked for when I pick up a set. Thank you!
*takes notes on ze list*
If you’re naughty Santa won’t bring you the hot tub on your list
A simple scheme that looks really great. It ties in perfectly with the base.
love armypainters speedpaint and the new fanastic line
Very nice scheme.
The brown leather gear was an attempt to distinguish the Luftwaffe from the Whermacht. As the war progressed and the Luftwaffe had excess ground crew, Luftwaffe field divisions were formed of the excess personnel. As time went on, the Field Divisions eventually came under Wehrmacht control eventually including logistical support. As such they now started receiving black leather like the regular army. Towards the end of the war, Fallschrimjager units were no longer elite paratroop units or even elite conventional infantry but increasingly less capable conscripts some of whom were just reassigned field division troops. Love joins painting videos
I’m impressed by the white speed paint. I’ve largely avoided them, but maybe that white is worth a shot
Nice and straightforward.
Nice work, might use these ideas
great tutorial. Currently painting Fallschirmjager myself (not winter ones though) and was useful having that quick explanation for the different colours of webbing and pouches
Always a soft spot for painted Fallschirmjäger. Andy Zeck painted some so beautifully that I fell in love with his painting style and associated the unit type and painting ever since.
Nice work John. Looks really good. An army of those will look amaze balls.
we used Andy’s in the 1000 point Let’s Play
I thought I heard you mention it. I think Justin used them in the Version 2 updated rules video a while ago too. Nice to see them getting some use and still enjoyed. Saw them close up with Andy in “the cage” and told him how enamoured I was with them. With his usual humble way he accepted the compliment gracefully and we went back to painting some Walking Dead bits. Happy times.
Really like these but I have a full army of unpainted rest-of-year fallschirmjager already
I’m not a fan of the white base rims, but I bet they really work on a white winter table mat.
I imagine this could be useful were one dumb enough to want their big Stalingrad set too…..
John’s right, he has put MP40 pouches on the geezer, needed the much wider 3 capacity pouches for this chap. its entirely possible however that he is simply playing ‘Hell Let Loose’ haha
bam
There was me asking Gerry what colour was used for the Fallsrimjager , and we have this, some nice ideas.
Very easy tutorial, perfect for beginners!
Well done John. You took some of the fear from painting white. Now to go and make of it myself.
