Heer46 Look To Roll Out E-100 Panzer Kickstarter Today

World War II is full of "What If?" moments and that's the subject of Heer46's Kickstarter which goes live today. They are looking to bring the big E-100 Panzer to the tabletop for your German armies.
This massive tank never actually made it to the battlefield. As a super-heavy tank, it never got off the production line with just one prototype chassis finished by the end of World War II. There had also been plans for their to be an assault gun variant of the E-100 but that never emerged either.
During design talks, it was thought that the tank would feature both a 150mm gun and a 75mm gun and a lot of the theory behind it was drawn from the Tiger-Maus. Probably rather fortunately for the Allies, this tank project was put on the backburner by Hitler in 1944.
The prototype chassis was found by the Americans in 1945 and shipped back to England by the British. It was then evaluated and eventually scrapped in the 1950s so no evidence of it remains bar a few photos which you can see HERE.
It was a monstrous vehicle and I could see why Heer46 are excited by the idea of bringing it to the tabletop to see what it might have done if it had been finished.
Will you be backing this project?

Does it come with fluffy fur?
It would have broken down, run out of fuel, could not be transported by rail or travel over bridges easily, and would have fallen prey to aircraft. Any more ‘what if’ I forgot? :p
Could be fun playing this up against the 1945 allied tanks like the is2/3 or the US tortoise or T28 or the British comet an centurion.
Tortoise was a British heavy assault gun, although it could have been an effective tank killer.
I think it was a joint venture as I’ve seen it in the US and UK 1945 tank lists.
It would fit right in with Konflikt 47.

I think you mean ‘rather unfortunately for the Allies’, right?
I love the “What if…” side of WWII wargaming. The paper panzers were the ultimate expression of this. If K47 was a little more tank friendly these would be ideal.
That’s a big tank!
