German Gebirgsjäger WWII 28mm Now On Kickstarter From Heer46
January 20, 2017 by stvitusdancern
Heer46 are looking to fund the creation of a number of Gebirgsjäger Divisions over on Kickstarter right now. Come and take a look at what they're doing with these elite German soldiers.
These soldiers were specially trained for fighting in difficult terrain and harsh climates. You might see them battling in the snows of Finnland, as well as east of the Caucasus and even as part of the Afrika-Korp towards the South of Africa.
There are all manner of 28mm miniatures on offer ranging from standard infantry to more specialised members of this crew. Either way, you're going to have a rather neat collection of special troops to build a section of your German army.
Interestingly one of the big things about this campaign that caught my attention, away from the regular soldiers, was the selection of cool vignette pieces almost. For example here is a Pioneer Team...
...followed by this fellow who is leading his Mule around, transporting supplies to those who need it.
There are all manner of other cool bits and pieces included as part of the campaign but you can dive in and see for yourself on that front; there's more than we could feature here plus additional miniatures on the way!
Rules?
Playing games with World War II miniatures is decidedly easier nowadays with so many rules sets out there although for this collection they recommend Victory Decision: Raid! which you can check out over on Wargame Vault.
Here's the lowdown on what Raid! is all about...
"Victory Decision: Raid! is a new Ultraskirmish game that allows you to command a squad-sized force in the momentous conflict of World War II. Each unit in “Victory Decision: Raid!” represents one individual infantry model.
Games are focused on infantry squad vs infantry squad, and typically have 6-10 figures per side. These rules cover almost all aspects of World War II wargaming, from Troop Quality and Leadership to Bunker Assaults, Combat in Buildings and Vehicle combat.
Victory Decision: Raid! features a unique Leadership-modified alternate unit activation system. The result is a fun and fast-paced war game that involves both players constantly."
...which sounds rather awesome. We might have to give this a go considering the low model count!
What do you think of the collection?
