GameCraft Miniatures Take Out the Rubbish
March 20, 2012 by dracs
GameCraft have released a new dumpster terrain piece for your urban wargame sets.
This piece is available in both 20mm and 15mm scale and is perfect to provide your urban fighters with a little bit of cover.
What are your thoughts on this? Think it might be a good addition?
It may not be a true sight blocker for 28mm but it’ll add character to a gaming board. Should be useful for Force on Force or Infinity.
Scratch that – just saw what scale this is for. That’ll limit its use a bit.
Nah. You could bang together something out of plasticard just as good as that in 10 minutes.
TBH that is what I would do but not everyone is so inclined to build their own terrain.
True enough. I just don’t see the point in spending hobbycash on something basic and undetailed like this. If it had some rivets or boltheads or handles on it, wheels underneath or panel detail/dents and refuse sculpted hanging out of the top under the lid etc then fair enough, but when its just a simple little box like this I tend to think poor effort. 4 bucks for something that took 10 minutes to sculpt? Nah. I’d further your comment though: some people don’t have the time or inclination to make these things look good. Including gamecraft.
Some styrene rod sections for castors.
Thinner ones for rivets or hexagonal section for bolts, would be easy peasy
I was also thinking that the lid could be raised up
that could be a nice little rule that the stink from the bin affects the model’s stats for every turn it hides behind the bin lol
Modifiers for minis with gas masks, bin men or bin divers! lol
HAHAH! Thats a great idea for a house rule – consider that stolen ;D
