The Fox Recon Vehicle Rolls Into Battle From Empress Miniatures

Empress Miniatures has released another new vehicle kit for those diving into the fighting during the Cold War period. Here we have the Fox Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle which replaced both the Ferret and the Saladin.

This set provides you with a 28mm (1/48) Fox that comes armed with a 30mm L21 RARDEN cannon. It also has a coaxial L37A2 7.62mm machine gun which carried a hefty 2600 rounds. Both that and the ninety-nine rounds in the cannon make this a pretty hefty piece of kit.

Additionally, this vehicle also came with a four-barrel smoke discharger for giving it cover and was designed to be air-portable too. Its armour was able to deal with most small arms fire and it would keep you relatively safe but it wasn't exactly safe against nuclear, biological or chemical weapons. Just make sure you put the pedal to the metal and get out of there.

This was one of the fastest vehicles of its type and so it would be a solid fit for you to drop into a British force during the Cold War period. It is a very nice resin kit that also comes with smaller metal accessories as you can see above.

It should be noted that the crew doesn't come with the standard Fox but you can buy the crew pictured above HERE if you want to man it.

A nifty looking kit that I think would be a lot of fun to paint up and drop into your games!
