Empress’ WW2 Arnhem Heroes Airborne Miniatures Now Available

Empress Miniatures' Arnhem Heroes range of 28mm World War II miniatures is now available at retail if you missed out during the Kickstarters (Arnhem Heroes & Arnhem Heroes #2). You can get your hands on some fantastic miniatures representing the British and the Polish during the intense fighting around Arnhem.

Arnhem Heroes // Empress Miniatures

There is plenty for you to snap up as part of the range including loads of the British Airborne alongside Polish allies. You can get soldiers with regular rifles as well as a mixture of different close-quarters weapons and some heavy weapons too.

Jeep Crew Member // Empress Miniatures

You can get a variety of different sets from Empress which should suit the kind of specialised force that you might want to run in games like Bolt Action or V For Victory. All of the sculpts by the talented Paul Hicks look fantastic and it feels like Empress has been able to cover all the bases when it comes to what you'd want from such a thematic force.

In addition to the regular troops, you can also get a few vignettes and such that would be great for setting up interesting scenarios. You can pick up guns, jeeps, ambulances, trailers and more that could be used to create interesting battlefields. Maybe you're doing a rescue mission where you need to get the casualties out of a bad situation.

Research for the range took into account photography and such from the period and lots of images and stories were used to help make the miniatures a reality. In some cases, you can actually match up the miniatures that you see here from war photography one-for-one. You could bring to life your own A Bridge Too Far on the tabletop.

Use this as a guide for painting Colonel Frost but then take it as the basis for a lot of your other painting as you add more miniatures to your force. Getting that camouflage just right is quite the task but it looks like it pays off.

In a bit of bonus news, Empress also mentioned that they are working on their third Kickstarter which will feature German troops! More details are on the way concerning them in the next few months so watch this space.
