Empress Miniatures Trains Up New SAS Troops
May 11, 2016 by stvitusdancern
Empress Miniatures has always produced some very nice miniatures and this time around these are no exception.
The updated SAS miniatures are in 8 different poses and show a nice variety of weapon choices to include M4s, SAWs, possibly a Remington 870 pump shotgun and a .308 sniper rifle in M16/M4 variant.
They all have body armour and night vision googles as well, my only criticism is the night vision google being in the down position and hoping that you could pose them in the up ready position. I will definitely be adding some of these to my collection. I have Empress Miniatures 'Danger Close' rules and would love to run these through them or add them to my Skirmish Sangin games.
What do you think of these?

These look really cool. I’d paint them black and use them as the SAS Special Projects Team (official name of their counter terror unit) in urban scenarios, or games inside buildings.
Rules-wise I’d also recommend Osprey’s Black Ops for a fast paced skirmish game, especially if you want to play stealth missions. With those suppressors, these look ideal for Rainbow Six style games.
I’d be surprised if the NVG’s aren’t separate parts.
Very nice figures, especially the suppressed M249 gunner. Hopefully they’ll continue to expand their other ranges and add a few more nations to the mix.
I ordered these and they arrived today. I can confirm the NVGs are not separate parts.
Nice Minis, but would like to see them with the 4 tube NVGs used in a CQB situations, or FISH (FIghting In Someones House) as i have heard used before.
