Dive, Dive, Dive! In Empress Miniatures’ 28mm U-Boat
April 5, 2017 by brennon
If you've always thought about recreating some scenes from Indiana Jones or indeed planning evil schemes like a Bond Villain (or just like the idea of German U-Boats in 28mm) then Empress Miniatures have a new kit for you to play around with.
This is a rather large kit made out of both resin and metal parts. It features a deck gun and AA gun as well as submerged periscope for when it's running beneath the surface.
There will be a special April price for this Submarine so you have until May to get it at a reduced price if this takes your fancy. Of course it will be available at Salute as well we imagine!
Thanks to @avernos for finding some better images!
What do you make of this U-Boat?

Alarm!
Dive!
Some facts about small submarines like that: crew leaving port = 100 souls, upon return = 50 couples!
Totally awesome kit. It’s a weird war 2 dream come true. Anyone know where I can get 28mm Deep Ones?

73cm long resin/metal kit for £67 delivered. Sounds pretty reasonable actually! That covers a pretty big chunk of a table.
This is a must Have
looking great.
Ahhhhhhh….the long awaited Bolt Action Commando raid on Nazi occupied French port comes one step closer!
i would like to see a 28mm fig next to the conning tower.
Aren’t the gun crew in the 2nd photo exactly that – 28mm figs next to the conning tower?
Ah wait. I see that’s a late addition. Forgive my snark.
you are forgiven, also shouldn’t you be painting Frostgrave minis at the moment why are you wasting time looking at U-boats?
I can’t resist the shiny!
for those who wanted more, your wish is my command

apparently photobucket is fighting me, sonofabitch
No BoW is, by not allowing images to be added in news comments
that’s okay I started another thread with more pics including some with 28mm crew manning the guns and on the tower for the scale conscious
I’ve added these into the news post above anywho folks 🙂
I’m glad you know how to make the devil box work, I was just about to sprinkle mine with chicken blood to placate it 😉
Devil box – I love it. Laughed out loud when I read in this . . . in my cube . . . at the tech company where I work . . . cursing my own “devil box” . . . trying to allow other people to buy devil boxes . . . so they can continue to take over the planet.
Chicken blood – I’ll try that next time I have an issue before I log an IT ticket. 😀
Any chance of seeing pics of it up next to minis from some other ranges? Dust? Reaper?
This looks utterly amazing!
Any Overhead shots with measurements? I’m curious as to what sized bases will fit in the conning tower
it’s roughly 12cm long, when I get mine I’ll post some pics with whatever minis I have to hand if that helps, but those are all the work in progress shots pre production that are around.
Got to have a Laughing Sawfish painted on the side
a nice green one.
This thing is incredible.
Awesome, Absolutely awesome, It’s my wifes birthday coming up. A 28mm U-Boat is the last thing she wants but then again I didn’t particularly want socks when it was my birthday so now we’re even..
Makes me wanna watch Das Boot
Its funny, I have armies for serious historical connection, then there are those that need the pulp story treatment for reasons. This will work great for the later but fine for both.
