Bolt Action has a tried and tested set of mechanics that well-loved by wargamers. The Dice-In-The-Bag mechanic is one that throws some fascinatingly tense moments into the mix when playing your games. It's good to see that the third edition of Bolt Action hasn't strayed far from its original mechanics. It's great that it has been tightened up for both newcomers and veteran players.

Excited for the armies of books.
I do really fancy those winter Fallschirmjager models.
I like that they’re beefing up the amount of unit profiles that are in the book. No one wants to have buy another book when getting into a game when that money could be going towards more plastic crack.
It’s always great to get insight into the design process of a game. For me personally, I always appreciate when games are streamlined, especially when, as mentioned in the video, doing so helps bring in new players.
I love Alessios approach to development. He appears to think a lot about the overall experience of playing the game, rather than getting lost in minutiae. Bolt Action and Middle Earth are great examples of that, and those games have dedicated and loyal fans.
Alessio is such a legend. Brilliant designer and his passion is infectious.
I am very glad to see that there is no model count bloat. Hope to see the French soon.
the Facebook groups have been draining around this… every post is someone moaning about how rocks are falling and everyone dies
well suicide is always an option for them
Happy happy joy joy
Fantastic interview.
I wonder will they update the Combined Arms campaign rules get an update to reflect Achtung Panzer and the new army building rules here?
A comment to win something.
I’m really liking the new army selector mainly as it fits in with how I already build my lists but also has the added advantage of making my opponent adopt a more realistic build. interested to see what other options to building your force will be when the army books land.
I’m excited to try the new edition.
“is that a new book of rules in you pocket or are you just happy to see me” – Tails from the Bulge
Thanks !
All looks great and good to see the design process
Ah Signore Cavatore, what an absolute corner stone of the industry. Author for many of the greatest games I’ve ever played. Nice to see him ironing out the (few) wrinkles in Bolt Action and future proofing it for the next generation of gamers.
Ok you’ve convinced me, again.
Been thinking about bolt action for a while seems like the time to take the plunge
Excited to get stuck in, got my first launch event in October coming up!
Probably a good time to jump into this game with 3rd coming out.
Fantastic interview! Pumped to get into bolt action V3! Fingers crossed I win the starter set! Goodluck everyone
Hope to see new lists one of these years.
Will watch this when I can.
Great interview!
