Chocks Away With Teaser Of Warlord’s New WWII Game
July 8, 2017 by brennon
It looks like we're going to have to polish up on our British Pilot accents as Titan Games showed off a teaser of a new game coming out from Warlord Games with an airborne theme.
More airborne adventures sound like a good idea to me and with Warlord having access to some great ways to model vehicles we're looking forward to seeing where this one goes.
With a backdrop like that could we expect to see the Battle Of Britain to be the focus for the first engagement with this game? Watch the skies...
Will you be following this with interest?

Fascinating. Any idea what scale?
Should be out in December, and its have many planes on the table top, thats all i know myself. But after Test of honour i say another winner on there hands….
Ohhhhhh ……………….. *regresses to childhood * ………… yessssssssssss
Reckon it will it will be either 1/300 or 1/144
Or any scale you want I would presume
“Or any scale you want” – good point
I’m thinking that it looks like 1:300 (or 1:285) there.
My thinking going along the lines of them seeming similar to X-wing in size and discounting 1:144 because they definitely look a lot smaller than something half the size of the 1:72 Spitfire I had as a child.
Although my guess might be suffering from childhood Curly-Wurly syndrome…
I will have to see how this compares to the planes and game play from Wings of Glory. Those generic bases makes it meh! for me right now because it does not seem more than a different troop type and not really aerial combat.
Yeah I agree it would be a good idea can get Justin and John to do a comparison.
Just an FYI — The Wings of Glory World War I set scale is 1:144 while for the World War II set, the scale is 1:200. The X-Wing Miniatures are 1:270 for the small ships (against the real models used on the movie sets). The larger ships are all over the place.
Just to add, should BoW ever review this during a weekender, that they have at least one Wings of Glory figure and X-Wing figure next to these on camera for comparison.
Really interested to see more remember hearing about this in an interview Andy did on a bolt action podcast years ago, mass fighter engagements is also some thing quite new, and he has also got a great track record for good mechanics. Coupled with Warlords production could be quite special.
Myself and other backers are currently waiting on delivery of the battle of Britain KS by PSC.
This looks similar, same setting of course and the minis look about same size although difficult to measure from the pics. KS is delayed as is the norm so patiently waiting. To be honest myself and others have lost enthusiasim over this due to delays and lack of comms from PSC, at one stage I’d forgotten I’d backed it.
Hope its not prepainted. One must walk the way of the hobby to truly be one with ones models.
All in all I have been waiting for years for an aerial WW 2 miniature game. Sadly the Victrix aerial combat game never took off. Wings of Glory, well it lacks the hobby aspect and thus disqualifies it for me.
If the rules work out okay you could see alot of people dusting off or buying 1/72 Scale WWII aircraft kits for this. Something I might plan to do.
I look forward to checking this out. Maybe have a good preview at GenCon.
Looks interesting but there’s not nearly enough info on it to make a judgement yet.
