BF 110 & FW 190 Kits Flying Into Blood Red Skies Soon
November 29, 2018 by brennon
A pair of new aircraft squadron kits will soon be soaring into the world of Blood Red Skies from Warlord Games. They are starting things off with the BF 110 Squadron for the Germans.
Known as a ‘destroyer’ in German this was a plane that could take on Bombers AND Fighters if it was given the chance. It was heavily armed but this also meant that it was sluggish and this was most evident at the Battle Of Britain where they took heavy losses and had to peel off.
The BF 110 was then later deployed as a night fighter and bomber and was actually flown by pretty much all of the night fighter aces at some point during World War II.

In addition to the BF 110, we also have the FW 190 (Focke-Wulf) which was seen as another of the standard planes issued to pilots during World War II by the Germans.
These planes became the backbone of the Luftwaffe during World War II and had versatile uses as a day fighter, fighter-bomber, ground-attack aircraft and, to a lesser degree, night fighter.
It was a darn good plane and favoured by many pilots, easily a match for many of the planes that the Allies had at their disposal.
We will no doubt be seeing some more detailed shots of the kits in the future but it's good to see more planes being catered for by Warlord Games.
Are you collecting more German planes for your force?

Ooh the focke-wulf the first plane to get NOZ fitted to boost performance.
The 190, my fave fighter of WW2.
Mine too.
Interesting, one of the best fighters of WW2, and one of the worst … in the same release! Bf110 Zerstörer probably won’t be very good until they bring in heavy 4-engined bombers like the Lancaster and introduce night fighter rules. Even in a ground attack role, Ju-87G, Ju-88A, or Hs-129 would all be better. WAAAY better. Please understand I’m talking about the historical performance of the fighter, I’m sure the kit is great. 😀 Maybe as some kind of objective marker, something the Germans have to protect with Bf-109s or Fw-190s in an escort missions? Speaking of Fw-190 … (especially… Read more »
However, the ME 110 was extremely good at taking loonies from Germany to Britain. 🙂
@oriskany Andy Chambers is working on the Bomber rules with the community, I have the stats for the Lancaster (I asked Andy nicely) so they do exist the issue is not so much rules but the ability to produce the models but with company’s like Armaments in Miniature you can get the aircraft models 🙂
I remember seeing BF 110 in one issue of comic book that British know as Commando but in here has another name in Finnish. I used to read lot of those back in day.
Good stuff
Cannot wait to get my brush to these and then on the table.
Is there any hint of a release date for these?
January is all I have heard so far hopefully early January
