Battlefront’s Team Yankee Warsaw Pact Pre-Orders Now Live
March 31, 2022 by brennon
Pre-orders are now live for the Team Yankee Warsaw Pact miniatures from Battlefront. You are going to be able to snap up a new book plus a selection of miniatures including two Starter Forces for getting you going in this Historical "What If?".
Warsaw Pact // Team Yankee
Shop Team Yankee @ Store.OnTableTop
Inside the new book, you'll find the background of the East German Army and a selection of the other forces. Mainly, the focus shifts towards the likes of the Czechoslovakians, Polish and more. There will also be rules for making armies based around these factions that banded together.
As well as that, there are two new scenarios that you can use to play out your games and a painting guide for getting your Warsaw Pact forces ready for combat on the tabletop. This significantly expands the options for those playing Team Yankee.
New Team Yankee Starter Forces
If you're interested in giving this a go, you can also pick up two Starter Forces.
T-72 Tank Battalion // Team Yankee
BMP Motor Rifle Battalion // Team Yankee
You can either go full-on armoured with the T-72 Tank Battalion or you can explore the options for an infantry-based force instead with the BMP Motor Rifle Battalion. Whilst I like the addition of the helicopters in the first set, I am pleased to see more infantry options being present in the second one. I have a soft spot for them popping up in 15mm!
New Team Yankee Vehicle Packs & More
In addition to the Starter Forces, you are also able to snap up separate packs that can be used to supplement what you already have in your collection. Maybe you could find yourself in need of a few more T-72 Tanks?
T-72 Tank Company // Team Yankee
These can be used to represent the Soviets, Czechoslavokian, East German or Polish forces on the tabletop. The same goes for the SU-17 Fitter Fighter-Bomber Flight.

A few more options are also available for you to dive into over on their Pre-Order Page or you can head over to Store.OnTableTop and pick up these miniatures there. It has been an interesting shift towards World War III from the Desert War in World War II but I know a lot of folks are interested in this Cold War period.
Are you going to be picking up the new book?

Nice as seen on TV? To soon.
12 T-72’s would have been better. Not sure why I would want those T-55’s.
Nice to see a starter set that is a bit more infantry based than their usual ones.
Seeing that set reminds me of the M1 Tanksimulator by Microprose where you had to take down a mechanized unit with loads of BMP’s and BRDM’s
The reason we don’t see infantry in the other starter boxes is that they only include plastic, and at the moment the only infantry available in plastic is the soviets. I hope the other infantry moves to plastic soon at the metal brits and yanks are pretty bad.
Yep its really good to see them having infantry in their starters! Very tempted to get that motor rifle battalion at some point.
you too ?
I’d rather have a Dutch NATO force, but then … we need some targets to shoot at as well 😀
(I soo don’t want yet another project in my backlog but I suspect that it will happen … )
Great looking sets – especially the BMP Motor Rifle Batallion. Here’s hoping Battlefront goes back to using hard plastic for the infantry instead of using that awful soft plastic they have used in the past.
Not sure why they have not included 2 x PKM LMG team with the infantry. If it was included it would allow you to field the contents of this box as a BMP Shock Motor Rifle Company, or a Red Banner BMP Motor Rifle Company. This is a stupid decision by Battlefront. You cannot buy the PKM LMG teams separately. I’m not sure if the Pact lists omit the PKM LMG but as a Soviet player this box is not really much good. It contains the absolute minimum number of BMP’s and Infantry teams you need to field a very… Read more »
Maybe they’re not included because they’re still metal or in the process of replacing metal with their ‘plastic’ (could it be siocast?) ?
The WW2 era infantry had separate boxes for their shock troopers, so I’m assuming that the WW3 era sku’s will be similar.
No, they are plastic, but only available in the motor rifle company box. Annoying as including them would make the starter much more versatile.
hmmm yeah, that sucks.
Look at the bright side … they at least got some infantry in an sort of infantry focused starter set, which is more than can be said of the tank/armor focused bits so far.
And it’s not like you can’t expand those starter sets with more bits.
2 Excellent looking starters and those SU-17’s look great. I really like the mix and variety in these especially the motor rifle battalion, and the mix of various armour in the tank battalion.
I’m sure some team yankee players will complain about these not being the most meta lists or useful minis but as someone who enjoys the variety and will probably use them for other games anyway these are really appealing kits.
