ArmyBits Kickstarter Range Of 15mm Soviet Cold War Infantry
February 3, 2020 by brennon
The Cold War is hotting up once more as ArmyBits has been showing off their Kickstarter campaign for a range of 15mm Soviet Cold War Infantry. There is plenty for you to dive in and check out if you looking to build up a new army for the period.
The focus of the campaign is on creating a new selection of tiny soldiers for you to use alongside the plethora of tanks, vehicles and more that are available across the wargaming spectrum. A bunch of Soviet Riflemen, Weapon Teams and more have been added into the mix.
All of the options available in the Kickstarter have been designed using 3D techniques and are ready to be run off as soon as the Kickstarter is finished. ArmyBits has already managed to reach its target goal so the bulk of the project is going to be produced and now you can simply look ahead for Stretch Goals and more.
A lot of the miniatures from the collection are going to be sent out to backers in white metal so it's a nice weighty material which will no doubt meet the approval of many within the community. The stretch goals, as they are a little bit bigger, are likely to be produced in resin.
I really like the sculpting here and I think there is a lot of detail worked into the weapons in particular. I really hope that that follows through into the final miniatures as it's always good to see the guns popping once you've added a wash to the models in this scale.
If you like your Soviets and want to help a smaller company then consider backing their campaign!

just made my pledge. This is one of the reasons i like OTT so much, it lets me know of all these kickstarters that are out there. I do wish they bring back the series where they show all the gaming kickstarters each week ( it was a great feature ).
Great figures at 15mm.
Pretty cool figures. The hands on the RPG **might** be reversed (at least per standard Russian training) … but this is more than made up for by the inclusion of the inclusion of the Dragunov SVD sniper rifle (last image) and the AGS-17 “Plamya” (Flame) automatic grenade launcher. I also like the magazine on the AK, looks like more of a AK-74 (5.45mm), as opposed to the AKM / 47 (7.62mm). Definitely a mid-to-late 1980s vibe here!
Sold – can’t get enough Soviets!
Thanks for all the kind words and thanks to posting up a review so quickly beasts of war! Seriously it was like an hour!!!
These infantry are sculpted in the KLMK camouflage suits with ak74, Ak74u, RPG, RPK, PKM and various other weapons 🙂 They will all be in white metal with the exception of the vehicles. These will be resin and available with stretch-goals. First up being the BMD-2, which makes for a nice VDV force 🙂
Please have a look and let me know your feedback!
Thanks again
