4Ground Team Up With LuxLu To Create World War II Ships
August 19, 2020 by brennon
4Ground has been working with LuxLu to create some awesome World War II British Royal Navy Warships for use in their game Admiral. However, there is no reason you couldn't use these ships in a large variety of games set during this period!

These particular ships have been laser cut (obviously, it's 4Ground at the helm!) however they have been designed to closely match the actual ships from the period. When you're playing games at this scale the silhouette almost means as much as the actual detail and I think these look awesome. The larger ships really do look fantastic and you can see where the guns are and all of the gubbins on the deck.

I really like these and think that they would paint up very nicely indeed. With a little coat of grey paint, a bit of weathering and some added highlights here and there you'd have a stunning little fleet to use in Admiral and other games.

I couldn't quite work out what the scale of these particular models was but I'm sure that someone in the comments can help on that front. With a lot of people looking to bring World War II to the tabletop in different ways, it's fun to have a choice and be able to dip your toe into a series of wargames to see which one floats your boat (hah).
Are you tempted to dive into more about Admiral?

If the squares on the cutting board are cms, and the aircraft carrier is the Ark Royal… which is the only British WW2 aircraft carrier I actually know the name of… I’d hazard a guess at 1:1700…. as the aircraft carrier is about 14 cm long, and in real life the Ark Royal was 240 metres… so if my maths is correct… Something like the Hood would be about 15cms in this scale.
Scale is 1:1850
Never would have thought these LuxLu MDF ships would look substantially better than Warlord’s Victory At Sea stuff, but here we are.

I ought to ban myself from saying how far MDF kits have progressed but here we are again. Bravo!
I hopped on LuxLu’s web page and they’re showing 1:1850 as the scale
They look great and if this takes off could be interesting if they do WWII.5 with some of the concept ships like the bigger 4turret Iowa (Montana) class ship’s.
Great news i see…. i came a cross them last year… but with 4ground working with them…super
Not working for me I’m afraid. This scale of ship would be better served by plastic IMO.
Woooooooowwwwwwwwww!

What scale are these, could they be great airstrike markers for Blood Red Skies?
