Mitosis Miniatures Preview Their Goblyn Rat Rider
May 25, 2016 by brennon
Mitosis Miniatures have given us a look at one of their new miniatures which will herald a new Fantasy range. Here we have the Goblyn Rat Rider who looks like quite the dangerous little schemer...
A lot of the components on the Goblyn here are interchangeable so you can swap out the likes of his body, arms, head and even his ears of all things!
In addition the Rat itself will also have some options for the head and the legs allowing you to make some dynamic and original looking cavalry options.
Plans are that they will be producing miniatures for all manner of stereotypical Fantasy races over the coming months and via Kickstarter of course.
Options For Hobbyists
Interestingly Mitosis also have some plans to make getting hold of these miniatures a little different. They have two options, Personal and Commercial Use.
- Personal Use - If you are in need of large numbers of a model than you can get the Personal Use Reproduction License and produce copies of the model! Just make a mould and off you go!
- Commercial Use - All you will need to do is buy the physical masters from us or alternatively use the digital files to print your own. After that all you have to do is have some moulds made and produce the models, or just pay someone to deal with that process too.
This is certainly an interesting prospect for folks who like getting into the business of making miniatures.
What do you think of the miniature?

Very cool
Lol great the model looks scarier than the picture.
I would love some rat mounts, I wonder how hard it will be to find someone who produces them (Mitosis indicates they are just selling licenses, moulds and masters etc, not making the production models). And will we need to be careful who we buy from, as the material and casting methods may lead to considerable differences in quality between makers?
Hi nighthaunter666,
The article is slightly wrong, all the models will also be available direct from us on a normal ‘End User, No Reproduction’ licens – ie, the same as buying models from any company.
Thanks
Gavin
