Take A Peek At New Plastic Sprues For Mantic’s Deadzone
September 16, 2015 by brennon
If you've been wondering how the hard plastic sprues have been working out for Mantic Games' Deadzone then see what you think of a first look at the options available to both the Veer-Myn and Pathfinders...
Scouting Ahead
As you can see you get given a whole bunch of different options in terms of heads, legs, bodies and weapons. The sprue also includes a cloaked version which I think is awesome, the leader of the squad.
There also appears to be a heavier weapon option in the bottom right of the sprue but I can't quite make out how it goes together.
Sneaking Veer-Myn
Their opponents on the tabletop are the sneaky Veer-Myn who have also got their fancy sprue to show off...
As you can see there are plenty of options once again and the poses all look very good. The way they fit together, with a few ball joints and flat surfaces means you can customise how they stand which I always like.
What do you think of their progress?

I do like the pathfinders. This paint scheme isn’t exactly what I have in mind for them tho..
The bottom right of the sprue is the robot dog
Ah fantastic – I was trying to place it!
BoW Ben
Those look impressive.
Rats in space…. I’m so there!!!
Those Pathfinders look pretty cool.
The pathfinders look a bit stiff to me… also not fond of the paint job.
Not the best paint scheme but nonetheless nice. I wonder is this the first plastic kits for deadzone? If they are, they did a good job for their first foray into plastic sci-fi.
The enforcers and peacekeepers were the first DZ hard plastic sprues, and there was the terrain of course. So it’s the second lot, but the first lot were very good too.
Fourth and fifth; Enforcers, Peacekeepers and Forge Guard have all been out for retail for a while. You can still see the gradual improvements in sprue layout/density though.
Not quite: They did hard-plastic sprues for the Enforces and Enforcer Peacekeepers, as well as the Forge Fathers in the heavy armour and their sci-fi zombies. All pretty awesome
top stuff!! Mantic just seem to get better and better with each release (just received a copy of the KoW rulebook, gorgeous!!) entire range seems to be coming along leaps and bounds with the passing of each year…
Mantic also did plastic sprue zombies for Deadzone. They’re compatible with the KoW zombies and ghouls too, which is nice for some extra variety.
I have more Deadzone stuff than I can shake a stick at and haven’t ever been able to get a game on the table despite having lots of it built. As nice as these new pieces are, I quite simply don’t need any more.
the pathfinders look good.
When will these be available in hobby stores in the UK?
