The Nameless Now Up For Pre-Order For Mantic’s Deadzone
June 18, 2018 by brennon
Mantic Games has now added the first of The Nameless to their webstore for those looking to use this new faction in Deadzone. The release isn't until July but you can now get your hands on the Starter Set and more.
The Nameless are very much those spooky creatures that go bump in the night, slithering around in the shadows ready to drag you off into the darkness. It's nice to see Mantic looking towards more varied alien species and continuing to grow their weird menagerie of creatures!
Big Nasties!
As mentioned, there are some quirky creatures coming out as part of The Nameless faction like the hulking Ogres...
...and this, the towering Blight which I think is a very dangerous looking beast indeed. I wouldn't want to run into one of these in a dark alley.
You'll be able to go on over and pick up a range of awesome looking Nameless characters and creatures, with more on the way I don't doubt. Remember of course that this also comes at the head of the new expansion for the game too, taking you further into the story of Deadzone and how it unfolds in the Warpath universe.
How would you paint your Nameless?

Very interesting figures the crab an ogre will look good in a certain insectoid army.
This looks great. I don’t know if I’m going to get these but I will think about it.
I’m not quite sure how to react to these. The paint job and choice of colours is so awful, I can’t see any detail.
The big feller at the bottom is pretty good, the rest, not so much. Detail just not crisp enough for my liking.
That would be because the big fella at the bottom is resin, whereas the other ones are pulling double duty, and are actually from the first Star Saga expansion, hence made out of PVC “Boardgame plastic”. The basic troops will probably be replaced with a hard plastic sprue when the Nameless move up to a full Warpath army, ie when Mantic can afford to make the tooling.
He’s plastic, not resin, according to the website.

There’s different degrees of plastic within Mantic. The Blight, as far as I know, is not a Star Saga model and will have been made to the same standard as Warpath/Deadzone. All of the others are actually Star Saga miniatures, as has been pointed out, so they will be made of a PvC plastic
It’s literally one of the bosses from the Star Saga Terror in the deep expansion.
I don’t think the Blight is, I don’t remember seeing it in any of my updates. The crab one definitely is
Here he is in the KS update, before the concept had been finalised.

Now I am a very dwarfy loving kind of bloke. I tend to dwarf in any army that a setting has ( If I can’t ‘dwarf’, I will ‘ogre’ , ‘human’, halfing, goblin or ‘orc’ instead . This being the case, it is strange that after having nearly completed my Deadzone Squa…. er Forgefather starter I find myself really tempted to do these chaps as my second army ….. very strange
(in other words .. good job Mantic)
More deadzone goodness, can’t wait for these guys to arrive.
