Mantic Give You A Countdown To The Walking Dead Kickstarter
January 26, 2016 by brennon
Set to run throughout all of February Mantic Games have given us the launch times for The Walking Dead: All Out War. Their latest blog post goes into a bit more detail about the campaign and gives us some hints as to what lies ahead for the game...
The campaign will be simple and focused on bringing the main boxed game out alongside some small expansion packs which give additional life to the main game. If the campaign goes exceptionally well then they will work on bigger expansions like a Prison setting.
If you're looking for some solid times to rely on then here they are...
"The Walking Dead: All Out War Miniatures Game is launching on Kickstarter on the February 1 at 05:30 PT, 08:30 ET or 1:30pm GMT. It closes on the February 29 at 15:59 PT, 18:59 ET 11:59pm GMT. Shipping Wave 1 is expected to be dispatched in August 2016."
Will you be getting stuck into this campaign?

Z Nation here we come….Cheese please
Although I’ve said I will back this KS I’m not happy that entry fee is £90.00 tbh. Especially with an announced retail price of £35.00.
This better be a really good value pack, otherwise I will wait until it hits the shelves later.
I’ve no doubt that by the end of the campaign the rrp of the items you’re getting will far exceed the cost of the pledge level. It’s just a case of balancing the cost of it and whether you really need all the extras against getting less value for money but a smaller initial buy-in and the chance to spread the cost out. You literally pays your money and takes your choice lol.
After the fiasco with Dungeon Saga and the poor handling of the Deadzone: Infestation kickstarters I don’t think I’d back this even if I was interested in the theme.
Someone always trots this out. I’m not sure why. DZ:I hasn’t even shipped yet so what poor handling are we talking about here? Also DS “fiasco”? For a VERY small percentage of people. For the vast, vast, vast majority (myself included) it seems to have gone really well.
You know why someone ‘always trots this out’? Because it should be unacceptable to do things like swap materials of products (to ones that are objectively worse) after people have already paid for them, decide that the contents of your products are going to change (and you will be providing less) after people have paid for them, and to generally treat your customers like imbeciles if they dare question any of these ‘customer motivated’ moves. As for Dungeon Saga. Are you fucking kidding me? They supplied a rulebook that was so poorly edited that they literally couldn’t release the retail… Read more »
Crickey, someone clearly pi$$ed in your beancurd. Temper temper, sir. You clearly feel strongly about this but please try to keep the tone civil.
We clearly have different opinions. For me I paid money for a kickstarter project and got my money’s worth in a good game, and lots of that good game IMHO. You wanted/expected more. let’s agree to disagree then.
Well said, @bigfatfred 🙂 I have backed every Mantic KS with the exception of Warpath and DZ:I, and have always been really happy with what I’ve gotten. There are always going to be some people disappointed by a KS – by it’s very nature it is more fluid than a pre-order so content and materials are always subject to change… plus, without a concrete product to show, everyone will picture the product how they’d like to see it – and of course everyone can’t be right. As to DS, I was very happy with everything – the rulebook and adventurers… Read more »
“t should be unacceptable to do things like swap materials of products (to ones that are objectively worse) after people have already paid for them, decide that the contents of your products are going to change (and you will be providing less)” CMoN actually have terms & conditions you have to agree to process your pledge on their pledge manager, which includes that you accept that the final product you receive may differ substantially from what was advertised.Obviously it rarely does but they’re up-front about the fact that it might and you have to be okay with that. If you’re… Read more »
I agree with the comments so far. Also I have noticed that you can get mantic stuff all over the place from online retailers at super deep (often in excess of 50%) discounts. Oh sure you don’t get the “exclusive” figs (but I have bins of “exclusives” that will probably never see the light of day again) … but at the end of the day the “value” of getting a big box of stuff to use for other projects, can easily be realized down the road. Thus I haven’t backed a mantic KS in awhile …
That does look so tempting that I just might change my opinion about zombies just for thid game.
Would have loved a basic buy in, just the game and any stretch as opposed to expansions etc but $125 + postage is to much for me on this one
I still haven’t received my Dungeon Saga pledge so I am not sure if I’ll support it.
The size of Ricks head is getting hard to ignore … game looks awesome though
I think there’s a pretty good chance that this game will take the same route Mars Attacks, it will generate a lot of buzz at first… then it will just fizzle out and die.
I expect this will fund in under 3 hours, the question really is the uptake beyond that. My feeling is because of the attached IP it’ll be big, which hopefully will mean they will provide a lot of value for those who back it. Will I back? Maybe, it really depends on what it looks like and the costs involved, I’m still waiting on Conan from last year, and once that does deliver it’s going to take up a huge amount of time, gaming and hobby wise – I have promised myself this year to only back something if I… Read more »
Mini of Carl (?) has been reminding me of someone for ages. Just realised it’s Neg from Balls or Steel fame.

the game looks good but I think I’ll wait.
im in.
Very poor handling of the previous kickstarters, loads of delay, terrible client servicing… So far, people buying afterwards from Mantic web store received a better treatment than some of the kickstarters participants ! I’ll pass on this one.
Judging by the picture of the contents , the photo of the painted guys with Rick and Carl are all the non-zombie miniatures you get.
You then get 2 sets of 6 zombies. So missing 2 miniatures, wonder if they are other hero characters or more zombies
The zombies are not a playable faction, so I believe you get two sets of characters/ survivors who are the warring factions. and the 6 (or 8) zombies are more like moving hazardous terrain that are dangerous for both /all players.
I was stuck between this and Age of Tyrants, i’ll keep my backing with Age of Tyrants.
I’ve still yet to see anything
Meh, still look like just another zed skirmish game.
