Wyrd Games has a nice selection of new releases for January for their 32mm scale wargames, The Other Side and Malifaux. With it still being in that "new year" period, maybe it's time to try out a new game with some fun miniatures from their weird worlds.

Kimon - Allegiance Box // The Other Side

First up, we have a new core box for those diving into The Other Side as a Kimon Allegiance. This comes with a single commander alongside some supporting units and all of the other cards and tokens that you need to play the game. This is great for one player and once a friend snaps up another, you could have some great fun with this.

The Oni Brutes in this set are particularly awesome and I also love the wild nature of the Qilin. I don't think I'd like painting them considering how delicate they look but you could have some real fun with them. They seem primed for a bit of Contrast paint!

Sticking with the Kimon, we have two other sets for you to consider. One of them is the towering titan, Tatarigami. A raging storm of a miniature and, as with the miniatures from the box above, all preassembled and ready to go once you've got the paint on the miniatures.

Slightly smaller than the titan above, you've also got this set of snarling creatures, the Nian.

These snarling hunters are going to be great for shaking the morale of your foes. I like the broken chains around the ankles of some of the miniatures showing that they can't be tamed. Unleash these on your foes alongside the rest of the Kami and have some bigger scraps in The Other Side.

Malifaux Releases

Switching over to a different realm, we also have the Grim Specter's Feast for those playing as the Resurrectionists.

This set comes with the Ghost Eater alongside three Ghost Lights. Have some fun and spooky adventures with these spectral characters on the tabletop as you expand your crews. All of the miniatures are gorgeous and inventive. I always find myself sitting and looking at Malifaux and The Other Side miniatures and wondering whether or not I should dive back in and give the game another go.

If you want to be sneaky rather than spooky then you've also got Always Watching for The Guild.

Sneak about with the Nightcrawler Network and see if you can get the drop on your foes when they least expect it. You also get those amazingly fun Camerabots. You could use these alongside this set of miniatures of course or you could just drop them around the battlefield as terrain features to freak your friends out while you're playing. Just don't explain why they're there!
