If you are looking for an incentive to get creating, and you are a Malifaux player or painter. It is time to consider wielding your paintbrush or airbrush for the Summer Painting Contest - Hot, Hot, Hot! from Wyrd Games. Running all the way up to July 28th 2021.

Hot, Hot, Hot. Painting Contest // Wyrd Miniatures

There is an incentive to get involved. With two different categories, awarding six different prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for each category), you might be in the running to win. The only catch, as the competition is so spicy is that fire must be incorporated into the theme. Which means lots of searing flames, and weapons that will take up the heat a few notches.

The two categories that you can include your miniatures in include a Single Model and Diorama/Vignette, offering three winners for each:

  • SINGLES - A single model on a base of appropriate scale or on a plinth of similar size. The single model should make up the majority of the submission and be the focus of the piece, not any additional accessories or details attached to the base. If the base is the main focus of the submission, then the submission belongs in the Diorama/Vignette category.
  • DIORAMA/VIGNETTE - This category is focused on storytelling through the use of miniatures and basing. For the purposes of Wyrd Painting Competitions, the submission uses one (1) or more figures in addition to other materials. The emphasis is on the entire piece and the scene/story being presented.

Not sure how you can create a sweltering display for your miniatures? Players could immerse themselves in their surroundings with outrageous heat, weapons can be dialled up with hot metals, weaponry that is lit a-blazing. If your miniature is embodying the word 'fire', you are on the right heated track.

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity to get painting this summer, especially if you have some unpainted Malifaux minis. Full details on the competition can be found HERE.

How will you max out the heat? Is this Wyrd summer competition something you will look at giving a go?
