Wyrd Games’ Fantastic The Other Side Allegiance Video Shows Off New Miniatures!
December 6, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
Wyrd Games has dropped my favorite Monday Preview ever today, with a fantastic trailer video for their upcoming Kickstarter for their next miniature game, The Other Side.
The Other Side will take the story of Malifaux through the breach as we explore what is going on The Other Side...
This video explores and explains the four different Allegiances in the game, and it provides awesome previews of the miniatures and cards we can expect when it launches on Kickstarter in a couple weeks.
If you want to check out more of the characters on the way for this game and some of their monstrous allies see the rest of the video!
Which Allegiance is your favorite?

Cult of the Burning Man has a lot of excellent minis. Gameplay wise I’m more inclined to go with the Gibbering Horde, endless hordes of sea dwelling monsters invading London… yes please!
The timing of the KS is not the best one for me though. KD:M will burn a hole in my hobby budget for next month. Hoping for a relatively cheap starter set to get going.
The timing of the KS is pretty rough, but oh boy – every faction has models I’d love to own. I will have to see if I can put aside some extra funds for this!
@siygess, I feel this “I want this from there, this from there and this from there”, too. Not that this was entirely new. But here it’s (again) that I’d like to pick and choose several pieces of different factions to mingle them. Or I’d like to see posses based on a few concepts.
Actually that’s similar with Malifaux for me. ^^
I often think about getting some Malifaux models, but when I look at some of the building instructions, or the size of the components in comparison to my big clown hands, I get put off (some of the Gremlin models look like an exercise in frustration).
Don’t get me wrong, the models generally look lovely, but I worry (it doesn’t keep me up at night) that I’d just get frustrated building some of them.
(note, I’m not asking for the models to be made less dynamic / detailed so that they can put together more easily)
I broke a curse record when I assembled The Hanged – those levitating ropes were maddening! That said, lovely miniatures 🙂
Fiddly minis will not be an issue in TOS, since they are pre-assembled.
While not ‘a shame’ part of the hobby is stabbing yourself in the finger with a knife/shaving off mold lines. But, overall it looks really good.
Just a note here as yes, I thought the same. Now, some silly dimensions. My palm, fingers together to my thumb is the same width across as four and a half citadel paint pots. The other half suggests I am part bear. I was worried as well and yes, some are fiddly. I bought the Pandora box set and yes, tricksy but not crazier than Workshop harlequins, for example. Dry fit thrice, a tiny dab of glue once, support with blu tack in advance and be patient, let bits set. I would suggest starting with a reasonably big ish kit… Read more »
I still remember stabbing my thumb with a thin rat tail file removing flash on an Infinity model that drew loads of blood. That was the worst injury from the hobby to this day. As for frustration, you’ll never want to handle the Battletec models or you’ll loose you’r mind.
correction, it was Robotch tactics that made me insane.
I am interested. Maybe not hooked yet but my curiosity kicked in already.
Oh, the Gibbering Hoards have my name written all over them.
Never really been a Maulifaux fan but the models do look beautiful. I went in quite heavy with the Mythic Battles Kickstarter after watching Warren and the guys demo the game. If I can find the funds – I might give this a bash…
I definitely like the look of the Gibbering Horde and the monstrosities from the abyssal depths. I’m already picturing the gribbly, gnashing glory of an assembled horde of these beasties.
I like what I see. But I will need to see more before I try it.
Those are rather stunning.
You had me at armoured whelks. Oh who am I kidding, you had me way before armoured whelks!
this looks great with a next gen Warhammer/underworld vibe that could turn into an amazing game.
i’m going to miss out like others due to kingdom death monster and moonstone but it does look good. I haven’t played since 1st edition but have always thought malifaux was a great product.
I am very interested, but I am not sure I need a massed battle game in my life. I hope it does well though, I love the look of Wyrd’s stuff.
Looks like there will be larger minis than Malifaux. Do we know how large forces are going to be?
Wyrd is making these minis look just as good as ever (I’ve got some of their minis on my painting table right now).
The minis will be 32mm, so same scale as Malifaux, but this game has Titanesque creatures/machines. They are really big compared to the regular troops.
Regarding the size of the forces, Wyrd hasn’t announced anything yet afaik.
I’m really interested in this. Wow! The models look great!
So let me see if I got this right. This is not a skirmish game but a mass battle game? I like the idea of big battles done right and Wyrd are the guys that could pull this off.
I just so happen to read the card for Price Unathi and was shocked to see mustard gas listed on it. For those that might not know, Price Unathi is of the Abyssinia force. Abyssinia was the Ethiopian empire and in the 1930’s Italy was at war with them. Italy used mustard gas as a chemical weapon that killed thousands of Ethiopians. The off chance of placing a card stat named mustard gas seems very small without knowing that lands morbid past. I would go a far as say that this was a very callous choice on Wyrds part. It… Read more »
