Wyrd Add More Monsters & Creatures To Malifaux In March
March 6, 2018 by brennon
Wyrd Games has added some new characters and more to the world of Malifaux this month. We start with some strange monsters and the Adze which was previewed a while back...
As creatures of the shadow that lure you off the beaten path with their twinkling lights, they are dangerous indeed. I love that we have this mash-up of beauty and brutality in the sculpt with those delicate butterfly wings and that savage maw filled with razor-sharp teeth.
Talking of beautifully dangerous we also have these Lampads.
Fiery souls, torn apart by strange magic, they look like the kind of creatures that would be an absolute joy to paint. You would forgo plenty of traditional painting rules and just go crazy. I love the idea of the balefire burning through their skin and making them stand out on the tabletop.
It would be fascinating to see these dropped into other worlds too. Imagine these as part of some Age Of Sigmar force, either in Chaos armies or maybe even the Sylvaneth?
Strange Characters
As well as the monsters we also have two new characters in March too. The first is Marlena Webster.
This is one of those neat characters from the world of Malifaux which shows off the nightmarish dreamworld that the game inhabits. You have this fairly normal looking lady commanding some monstrous beast!
Big Brain Brin is almost the other way around as a Gremlin who looks very much like a comic book supervillain.
He has a rather smaller looking creature with his molerat there. I mean, it's not exactly a dangerous looking creature but I'm sure it could give you a nasty nip!
What do you think of these new characters?

Big Brain Brins molerat isn’t called Pinky by any chance us he?
Is he? Damnable auto correct…
..thought that too. 😀
The Adze is incredibly cool. Not so sure about the render. But it’s a nasty piece of work. Art work I mean… love it.
I have never played this game but some of the beasties they have would look great in a chaos army.
I first saw the words “Azde” a couple of days ago and learned a new word.
Azde is a tool used for hollowing out logs. It’s shaped like an ax, but the cutting edge is horizontal, rather than vertical.
I have finally … finally … started my Arcanists army ……Fortunately there is no Arcanist stuff this month so I don’t have “spontaneous follow up purchase syndrome” . (The other stuff all looks cool however.
Really? I’m curious – which crew(s)? (Since there are no short bearded grumpy guys and few if any frontline brawlers…) 😉
The Ms & U in the end but I was seriously tempted by Marcus’ crew. Aside from an intense dislike of the Guild (brought on by a lifetime of having to work “with”/against buerocracy and red tape ) all the other factions had their appealling bits , at one stage I was going to go Ten Thunders or Gremlins..So while yes, the dearth of short bearded blokes was a concern 😛 I just went withmy initial attraction. (I don’t really have a play style .. I usually just pick armies on lore … probably why I lose more than I… Read more »
some freaky stuff this time around.
