Sneak Peek At The Kickstarter Video For Wyrd Games’ The Other Side
December 13, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
Wyrd Games sure knows how to get my attention! Now they've dropped their Kickstarter video out there for everyone to drool over. The Other Side is looking pretty sweet as brings together the amazing steampunk world of Malifaux, their ingenious Fate Deck mechanics, and a larger scale, mass battle wargame.
Anyone that's played or admired the game Malifaux knows how lovely their sculpts are. These are looking to be just as amazing and offer some great variety in the Allegiances. The Other Side launches on Kickstarter this week, on December 14th.
Will you be joining the exploring The Other Side?

I really should not be looking at another Kickstarter this year but this has my interest!
I only discovered this here less than a week ago… and (bugger) I really like the look of it . I have always liked Wyrd’s miniatures, and the more I read about this setting the more I like it. Very keen (I’m afraid)
How wise are they to launch a Kickstarter the same period to many big kickstarters were/ are active? they do not have a target audience that is dissimilar to those that backed/ are backing these super kickstarters.
I would like the two enemy fractions i must say for other games…..
I may be wrong, but I think this is not the KS video. This one was on the site a few days ago.
You are right, the new one is here:

Thanks @golonka (damn I am keener for this than I should be) …One piece models? Well that will solve the problems that some people were complaining about it the Malifaux forums .
Oh damn! It totally was. I think it played after the KS one and I grabbed that link. Here’s the right one. Good catch!
I don’t really do kickstarter, but I am absolutely sure I will be some cult and Abyssinians just to paint, they look like fantastic models.
It is just my impression but Malifaux seems to be more popular in North America and I think this kickstarter will be well supported by the existing Malifaux players/ collectors. I know I will be getting in on this.
Malifaux is EXTREMELY popular in the U.K. we’ve broken all records in terms of biggest events on a year by year basis – all corners of the country have players. America just has population numbers but our events are far stronger as our country is smaller thus allowing people to travel to more
Very rarely could I see myself playing as any faction in a game, usually there’s just the one or two that stand out, however here I could happily play any of his these – they all look great!!
Last thing my wallet needs is another kickstarter but we’ll see how it goes…
the monsters look brilliant in the game.
I mentioned in the other video that the use of the word Mustard Gas for the Abyssinia army is of poor taste as Ethiopia had suffered in its past the use of mustard gas on its people. I hope Wyrd will change this or as least explain themselves.
Americans have been shot recently, there’re bombings in Syria. Japanese terrorists used Sarin. It’s a suspension of belief.
Being smart and not offending the people they seem to be aiming to honor, the Ethiopians is not a stretch is it? Also I’m fully aware its fiction. Doesn’t stop them from being sensitive about a peoples past.
I do see your point in that trauma happens everywhere and they can’t be expected to avoid offending somebody somewhere. But this seemed like a known fact on Wyrds part and almost like an Easter egg of some sort. It should be mentioned that they did change the card. Good on them for do this before going to print.

I’m sold. This is gunna be an awesome project!
Check out the link guys, it’s an actual model prototype of the “kings hand” mecha and the giant monster
Checked the draft KS page for this. The basic pledge for a starter set and Rulebook is $99, with no access to stretch goals.
Factions in a nutshell:
The King’s Empire – Ranged combat faction
Abyssinia – Elites, rely on superior tech instead of numbers
The Gibbering Hordes – Melee fighters
Cult of The Burning Man – Magic users
I’ll be watching this one, but will wait for a bit before pulling the trigger. I like the look of Abyssinia or the Gibbering Hordes for my faction choice.
Afternoon guys,
Has any of you manage to look at the page? The page is supposed to be live by now.
Checked Wyrd’s website, countdown says should be live in 40 minutes.
I am in . I have gone for the lowest pledge (99 US$) but we all know I am going to up it sometime during the campaign (although I shall never repeat my shameful display of the first WWX kickstarter). Looks like it was funded in about an hour. (unsure of starting time)
platoon level makes this interesting. I guess this is warmachine and hordes territory.
I’m in. Kingdom Death looks great but I can only do one big KS at this time and Wyrd wins it! I’m at one plus a titan level, now to decide Brits or gibbering?
