Wyrd Games has been showing off the releases coming out in September for Malifaux. If you're looking to get stuck into the spooky season in style then there are some lovely 32mm scale miniatures coming up next month including the awesome Guise And Ghouls set.

Rotten Harvest Guise And Ghouls - Malifaux

This set comes with different Effigy miniatures for various characters in Malifaux. They are all preassembled and were designed to represent a bunch of kids out for Halloween in their spooky best.

The miniatures are gorgeous, as you might have guessed from the team at Wyrd Games and the renders look great. I like that you've got some callbacks to classic Hammer Horror characters in the set alongside plenty of references to pop culture. Here's the breakdown of what's in the set and who's who!

  • Kid Tut (counts as Intrepid Effigy)
  • Mini Merlin (counts as Arcane Effigy)
  • Headless Halfling (counts as Brutal Effigy)
  • Creepy Crawlie (counts as Carrion Effigy)
  • Toad Tyke aka Gorf (counts as Lucky Effigy)
  • Moth Munchkin (counts as Mysterious Effigy)
  • Ghoul Getter (counts as Hodgepodge Effigy)
  • Pint-Size Poltergeist (counts as Shadow Effigy)

I think Ghoul Getter might be my favourite. Even if you don't end up using these miniatures in your Halloween games of Malifaux, you could see these as fun painting challenges that could break up painting through your regular crews.

Regular Malifaux Releases

In addition to the Guise And Ghoul set, there are also a bunch of regular sets coming out covering the month of September. We start with the cruising Slipstreamers.

The Slipstreamers kit comes with two miniatures for those collecting the Explorers. They represent more characters from the Fey race known as the Aua who are looking to make a name for themselves in Malifaux once more. They seek to rebuild their civilisation and claim their lost lands.

The Bayou are then asking you to Step Right Up with their release for September.

This set comes with the Hog-Oil Salesman alongside two Swine Twirlers. That's a lot of very American vibes going on in one box. You could imagine this fellow waddling into town, flanked by his advertisers. I sense that those Swine Twirlers might be more dangerous than we expect!

Stepping up the horror, you can also pick up Widdersins Lane for the Explorers. You don't want to be going down any alleyways when these fellows are about.

This set comes with the bloody Alleyway Echo alongside the dashing (and frightening) Host Ducat. Again, some awesome miniatures and as a whole, I think you get a sense of the quirky Pulp vibes that you get from all different directions when collecting and playing Malifaux.

New Guild Starter Box

Capping things off, you will also be able to pick up the new Guild Starter Box.

This set comes with a collection of preassembled miniatures so you can play with them right out of the box or get painting straight away. You get miniatures for Commander Bura, Brace and two Batter Rams. A solid starting point for someone wanting to try out Malifaux.

The set also comes with 20mm Scheme Markers, a Measuring Widget themed to the Guild, all of your Stat Cards and Upgrades for your games and then the Guild-themed Fate Deck. A good way to show off your allegiance.

The miniature for Commander Bura is quite interesting and it will be intriguing to see how the miniature is to paint when you break it out of the box. The same goes for Bracer. They will certainly look unique on the tabletop.

Are you tempted by these Malifaux releases for September?
