Bad Things Happen With Wyrd’s New Malifaux Companion App
November 8, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
Leave it to Wyrd Games to make the best of when Bad Things Happen. They have just announced their new Malifaux Companion App!
This has been a long time coming and now it's finally here and ready for install on both iOS and Android.
Players can use the app to track their collection, build crews and perhaps most handily, keep all the stat cards readily available. I may be old school on wanting to have hard copy cards out for my active models, but there is certainly something to be said for having the rest of the cards available to you - like your opponents!
I mean, why not have the heads up on whatever special abilities they have so you can tailor your moves to not fall into their trap?
You can also use the app to create, store and track your encounters, and when both players have the app, you can share your crews and results in a snap, making it easier than ever to get right into your game.
What do you think about the use of this kind of tech for your game play?

Oh this will be handy. Will it have functionality for the “other Side” as well?
Finally someone asks themselves “what information and tools will a user find useful to play our game” and then builds it.
I particularly like the ability to record which models you have in your collection and use that as a filter when building a crew rather than having to scroll through the whole range.
Optional £8.99 for all the stat cards in electronic form is great value and very useful.
I’m having a problem with that, actually.
Whenever I try to Filter my results to “Owned” when using the list builder, everything disappears.
I’m stuck with either having every option shown and available, or none of them. Not sure why that bug is plaguing me.
I’m very impressed with this as a first iteration and the one-off charge for every card ever is pretty reasonable. Well done Wyrd!
