Shadows Over Innistrad Trailer Shows Darkness Over The Plane
March 7, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
The pre-release of the next Magic the Gathering block, Shadows Over Innistrad, is set to launch April 2-3rd, and promises to bring with it a blanket of darkness that has fallen over the Plane.
Those who were once tasked to protect it, have fallen under its spell and turned to dark magic. The angels we once knew, have now found the taste for blood.
The fantastic dual side cards are back in play in this block, offering a unique variety of play to the creatures. One side features the character making all efforts at maintaining civility and nobility, where as the other assumes lack of self control and succumbing to dark magic over Innistrad.
The official trailer for the block has just dropped, and I for one, cannot wait to get my hands on this next set.
Are you looking forward to this next block for MTG?

Two sided Avacyn wh? I might have to get two of her for my angel collection so that I can display both sides at same time.
I know! I can’t wait! I love my angels. 😀
As someone who loves to play this with friends, I’m going to say that MtG is in a bit of a mess atm. It is certainly making loads of money for WotC, but Standard has to be in one of its worst states for ages. Hopefully this new set can make things right again. Online it’s even worse. I fully understand how difficult it would be to somehow come up with a system that could deal with all the interactions that go in when you combine all of the sets in MtG, but the interface is hopelessly archaic. I don’t… Read more »
WotC has recently dropped ball with they several products and MtG Online could also be much better. Right now you can get free versions that allow playing MtG and those have much better interfaces than MtG Online. It’s like they are in they ivory tower ignoring everything that other TCG companies does better. Only format that I still play in MtG is EDH but other than that I don’t really play MtG much anymore with so many other TCGs that I also play and enjoy more than I enjoy MtG these days.
Really excited for this, Innistrad was my favourite Magic set.
Me too, Sam!
My favorite Magic set was Kamigawa but it’s one of least popular once in history of game.
Anyone else remember when Shivan Dragon was the best card in the game?
I reckon thats got to be at least 15 years ago(last time I played properly).
For a game to be going so long and doing as well they have to be doing something right.
I would argue that Standard is in a bad place atm. If you have a look at the standard decks that feature in tournaments, just trying to sort out the mana base (many of the lands being mythic, i.e. the rarest card type) is putting you over £100 before you even start to pay for the other cards you hope to play. The “honest” (i.e. cheap, although you’d still be looking at £100+ to get the creatures) red deck that seems to crop up in most cycles (I don’t see it in the top 32 of the most recent standard… Read more »
That is so true. Making some of lands in BFZ block really hard to get only made standard in MtG even more expensive format than it already was. It’s easy to see why modern (that we around here call people’s format) is becoming more and more popular and EDH is go to format for casual players like me. Granted modern also has some expensive cards including some lands like enemy fetch lands from first Zendikar block but least you can use those without fearing that those would rotate out. I wish WotC would make MtG cheaper and at same time… Read more »
